The artist shared a peek at her recent ice skating date in New York City with the star of The Matrix. It was a new and fun experience for the couple.

Alexander shared on Instagram that Keanu Reeves asked her out on a date last Monday after a performance of Waiting for Godot. They went ice skating at Rockefeller Center in New York City. She also gave a shout-out to the staff at the Rink, thanking them for making them feel welcome with cheers, hot cocoa, and hats.

Alexandra, 52, and Keanu, 61, recently celebrated a special moment: the John Wick star picked up ice skating again, something he hadn’t done since stopping ice hockey as a teenager.

Alexandra described her boyfriend’s experience trying to skate again after many years, saying it was really challenging to switch from hockey skates to figure skates and get used to the toe picks!

Alexandra and Keanu, a couple since 2018, were spotted enjoying a romantic skating date. Alexandra shared a video of them holding hands and even kissing while posing in front of the iconic Rockefeller Christmas Tree.

Alexandra said the experience made both her and Keanu realize how impressive figure skaters are, especially with the 2026 Winter Olympics coming up.

She celebrated the next wave of talented skaters and Olympic athletes, saying she’s inspired by their individuality – how they train, what they eat, the music they love, and their unique style. She also expressed her support for them as they pursue their goals and cheered on the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics!

In the end, Alexandra commended her boyfriend for his surprise. 

She enthusiastically encouraged embracing new experiences and connection. She wrote, “Yes! Say yes to happiness, to pushing yourself even when you’re exhausted, to trying new things, and to doing things your own way – all while remaining open to whatever happens!”

For years, Alexandra and Keanu kept their relationship private, but recently she’s started sharing little moments from their life together. She even publicly declared her love for him on his 61st birthday. In a post on Instagram on September 3rd, she shared a photo of his birthday cake and wrote a sweet message: “To Keanu—who somehow saw this as a draft!—I’m so thankful for your love and support. Now, back to painting! Xo.”

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant first met in 2009 at a dinner party, as reported by the New York Times T Magazine. They later combined their talents on two book projects: Ode to Happiness in 2011 and Shadows in 2016. In 2017, they also started their own publishing company called X Artists’ Books.

The duo attend the UNAIDS Gala during Art Basel 2016, but no one seemed to catch on at the time.
