Keira Knightley’s latest Netflix film is proving popular with viewers, despite receiving some negative reviews. The movie, which stars Knightley, is finding success on the streaming platform.
According to Flix Patrol, *The Woman in Cabin 10* is now the most popular movie on Netflix worldwide. This happened quickly – just two days after its release – even though critics haven’t been kind to it. Despite the negative reviews, the film has outperformed other popular choices like *Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire* and *KPop Demon Hunters*.
Simone Stone directs this film, based on Ruth Ware’s 2016 novel and co-written with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. The story follows investigative journalist Laura “Lo” Blacklock, who takes a job on a luxurious yacht owned by Richard Bullmer and Anne Bullmer. When Lo believes she witnesses a murder that no one else seems to recognize, she finds herself caught in a dangerous mystery that threatens her life.
Kaya Scodelario, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Art Malik, David Ajala, David Morrissey, John Macmillan, Paul Kaye, Amanda Collin, Gitte Witt, and Pippa Bennett-Warner join the main actors in *The Woman in Cabin 10*.
Netflix released *The Woman in Cabin 10* on October 10th, but it hasn’t been well-received by critics. Currently, the film has a 27% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over two dozen reviews – a small increase from its initial 14%. Viewers give it a slightly better score of 33% on the site. Interestingly, the book the film is based on has a 3.73 out of 5 rating on Goodreads, which isn’t overwhelmingly positive either.
What’s Next for The Woman in Cabin 10 Star Keira Knightley?
Keira Knightley’s fans and thriller enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming series, *Black Doves*. The show centers on Helen Webb (Knightley), who is married to the UK’s Defense Secretary, Wallace Webb (Andrew Buchanan). Helen’s secret life as a spy is jeopardized when her lover, Jason Davies, and two others are killed. The cast also includes Sara Lancashire as Helen’s supervisor, Reed, and Ben Whishaw as Sam, a hired hitman tasked with protecting Helen from unknown enemies.
Despite receiving fantastic reviews from critics (currently at 92%), the show *Black Doves*, which debuted in late 2024, wasn’t as popular with general audiences, who gave it a 64% rating. However, it still performed well on streaming platforms. Season 2 is expected to be released on Netflix in 2026.
The Woman in Cabin 10 is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
