Kelley Mack’s Walking Dead Family Pays Tribute After Her Death

Kelley Mack’s Walking Dead family is carrying on her legacy.

After Kathryn, the actress famed for her roles as Addy on The Walking Dead and for appearances on 9-1-1 and Chicago Med, shared the tragic news of her passing at 33 following a struggle with cancer, her previous co-stars voiced their sorrow in the comments section of her August 5 Instagram post.

Gustavo Gomez, appearing on TVD, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the shared moments during filming with Marco.

He expressed deep sadness, saying, ‘This is truly devastating.’ Yet, he feels incredibly fortunate that their lives intersected. Rest assured, your radiant spirit will continue to illuminate.

In the meantime, Anthony Michael Lopez (Oscar) praised Kelley for her courage during her battle with a rare type of cancer known as diffuse midline glioma. This is a particularly aggressive form of cancer that originates from a malignant brain tumor situated in the central structures of the brain, unfortunately taking her life before recovery.

I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Kelley, she was a delightful and cheerful individual whom I was fortunate to know. My thoughts are with you all as you remember her. She battled valiantly. May she find peace and may your family be surrounded by abundant comfort and love.

Michael Satrazemis, the director, additionally expressed, “It was fortunate for me to collaborate with Kelley on TWD. She shone brilliantly in all aspects. My deepest sympathies go out to those who cherished her.

And while announcing the tragic news, her sister penned a few words of her own.

Kathryn shared the news on Instagram with deep sadness that Kelley has left us. Her vibrant and passionate spirit has moved on to another realm, which is our ultimate destination.

It’s worth mentioning that Kelley, whose given name was Kelley Lynne Klebenow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her mother Kristen and aunt Karen. The statement further noted that Kelley has already appeared to several of her loved ones as different butterflies. Her absence will be deeply felt by many, beyond the reach of words.

At the end of the touching eulogy, Kathryn took care to address a personal message to everyone who cherished her sister.

She expressed that she deeply cherishes each one of you, in her message. Furthermore, being her sister, I feel compelled to share with you all how incredibly courageous she was, particularly during the time when she chose to rejoin the divine realm. I am immeasurably proud of her.

In 2021, Kelley marked the debut of her film “Broadcast Signal Intrusion” at the Chicago Film Festival with a celebration.

Kelley frequently shared her personal and work achievements on social media platforms, keeping her audience informed about her private life.

Many of Kelley’s posts included her boyfriend, Logan. 

The actress from the show “9-1-1” regularly informed fans about her personal battle against diffuse midline glioma, an uncommon type of cancer.

Kelly collaborated with her mom on scriptwriting, including the development of “On The Black” – a screenplay set in the 1950s that was inspired by the life stories of her grandparents on her mother’s side.

Apart from “Broadcast Signal Intrusion”, Kelley has also been seen in “The Walking Dead” as the character Addy. Furthermore, she has taken up guest appearances on shows such as “9-1-1” and “Chicago Med”.

Kelley also did voiceover work, often sharing glimpses of the recording process.

The 33-year-old’s family were by her side throughout her health journey. 

In the spring, Kelley enjoyed a trip to Florida to spend time with family.
