Kelly Osbourne’s Son Mimics Ozzy Osbourne’s Bat-Biting Moment

Kelly Osbourne’s 2-year-old grandson Sidney is hopping on his late grandfather’s crazy train. 

Kelly Osbourne’s son, whose father is Sid Wilson, recreated a famous moment from his grandfather Ozzy Osbourne’s career for Halloween, showing he inherited the rock star’s energetic spirit.

In a TikTok video posted on October 30th, Sidney, dressed in a skeleton sweatsuit, playfully removes the head of a stuffed bat toy with his teeth. He sweetly laughs after, still holding his pacifier.

Kelly shared a video set to Ozzy Osbourne’s song “Crazy Train,” and wrote in the caption, “Learned from the greatest, Papa!”

Ozzy Osbourne is talking about the infamous 1982 concert in Des Moines, Iowa, where a fan threw a bat onstage. He famously bit the head off the bat, which led to him needing a doctor’s attention – though he later said he initially believed it was a prop.

Let me tell you, I’ve seen a lot in my years advising people on how to live a little, and believe it or not, this story still sticks with me. In a documentary a while back, I recounted how I once thought a rubber bat was a prop. I playfully bit down on it, being the showman I am, and quickly realized my mistake – it was a real bat! It just goes to show you, sometimes the wildest things happen when you least expect them, and a little bit of playful curiosity can lead to a pretty shocking surprise.

Oh my god, it just breaks my heart thinking about it. Apparently, just two months before Ozzy passed away on July 22nd – he was 76, can you believe it? – Sharon actually talked about how incredibly close he was with Sidney. It’s just… so sad knowing how much they meant to each other, and that was so recent before everything happened. I just can’t stop thinking about it!

Kelly Osbourne shared with People magazine in May that she was surprised to see her friend Sidney getting close to her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. She jokingly said, “Sidney ditched me and went to hang out in bed with my mom and dad.”

She explained that her son loves cuddling with his stuffed animals to watch cartoons, and it’s incredibly cute. She often has to gently pull him away from them when it’s time to do something else.

And Ozzy had also been vocal about his adoration of Kelly’s little boy.

Oh my gosh, you guys, he’s just the best! That’s what Ozzy said himself on their podcast back in September 2023 – can you believe it was only ten months after little Sidney arrived? He was gushing about how adorable he is and that he’s really starting to come into his own personality. Honestly, Ozzy said he’s just so cool, and I completely agree! I’m obsessed!

Honestly, the anticipation for Sidney started way before he even arrived! Ozzy was just bursting with excitement and actually let everyone know we were having a boy before I even had a chance to share the news myself. He was counting down the days until his grandson arrived, it was so sweet!

Kelly playfully described how she responds to her dad’s excitement, saying she usually teases him with, ‘Aww Dad, come on.’ However, she added that every day he cheerfully sings and dances because he’s thrilled they’re having a boy.

And Ozzy had also been vocal about his adoration of Kelly’s little boy.

Ozzy said on The Osbournes podcast in September 2023, about 10 months after his grandson Sidney was born, that Sidney is wonderful and really coming into his own personality. He described him as “very cool.”

I remember Kelly saying that Ozzy was absolutely thrilled even before Sidney was born! He was so excited, he actually told everyone she was having a boy before Kelly even had a chance to announce it herself. He couldn’t wait to meet his grandson, and it was just the sweetest thing.

In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kelly playfully recounted how she responds to her dad’s excitement, saying, ‘I’m like, ‘Oh Dad, really?’ But honestly, every day he does a little song and dance because he’s thrilled it’s a boy!’

Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England in 1948, rose to fame two decades later with his band Black Sabbath. The group, formed with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, quickly gained popularity. Ozzy married Thelma Riley in 1971, and they had two children, Louis and Jessica, joining Thelma’s son, Elliot Kingsley, as a family. However, Ozzy struggled with the downsides of fame, admitting to substance abuse and destructive behavior.
