Kelsey Grammer Welcomes Baby No. 8 at Age 70 as Wife Kayte Gives Birth

Kelsey Grammer is saying cheers to a new addition. 

Actor Kelsey Grammer, 70, announced the birth of his fourth child with his wife, Kayte Walsh, 46. Their new son is named Christopher.

Kelsey shared on the October 27th episode of their podcast, Pod Meets World, that Christopher had just become part of the family, saying it happened about three days prior. She was speaking with her cohosts, Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong.

As a longtime fan, I was so happy to hear about Kelsey Grammer’s new baby! It’s wonderful to see his family growing, and it’s such a beautiful blended family situation. He’s already a dad to so many amazing kids – Faith, Gabriel, and James with Kayte, plus Spencer, Greer, Mason, and Jude from previous relationships with Doreen Alderman, Barrie Buckner, and Camille Grammer. It’s just lovely to see him embracing this new chapter with so much love for all his children.

As he put it, “It just became eight kids.”

Kayte, who married Kelsey in 2011, announced her pregnancy in June by showing off her baby bump while out in London.

Kelsey was clearly excited to grow his family, having often spoken about how much he loves being a father and how rewarding it is.

You know, as a mom, nothing brings me more joy than when all my kids – even with their different ages and stages – are simply together in the same room. I feel incredibly lucky that my career has allowed me to create that kind of family life. It hasn’t always been easy – there’s been heartache and challenges along the way, of course – but overall, it’s been a wonderful journey, and I really want to share that feeling of fullness and happiness with my children.

Kelsey has already shared his years of experience with his children, and several of them have followed in his footsteps by choosing careers in the entertainment business, just like him.

Oh my gosh, he was talking about how incredible it is that his kids are following in his footsteps! It just gets me! He was saying how proud he is that all his kids – the ones wanting to be involved, anyway – are stepping up and taking ownership of their lives, wanting to be a part of the family business. And his wife, Kayte, she totally nailed it – she said it’s something to be proud of, and honestly, it IS! I’m getting chills just thinking about it!

Chad shared on Instagram on September 1st that Erin’s labor was more difficult and lasted longer than with their previous children. Erin also developed a serious urinary tract and kidney infection that led to septic shock.

Country singer Sam Hunt and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, recently had a baby boy named Wayman Allen Hunt on May 21st. This is their third child together.

The couple are also parents to Lucy Louise and Lowry Lee.

Perrie Edwards, formerly of Little Mix, and her partner Zion Foster had twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, in May.

Jesy shared on Instagram that her twin daughters arrived at 31 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy. She explained that the birth happened very quickly, but she and her partner, Zion, are overjoyed to have their healthy and strong baby girls. They’ve never felt so much love.
