Joseph Duggar’s wife Kendra Duggar is out from behind bars.
I was so shocked to hear about the arrest back in March. Apparently, she was charged with four counts each of putting children at risk and illegally holding them captive, but thankfully, jail records show she was released the same day. TopMob News was the first to report it, and honestly, it’s been hard to process everything.
A hearing in the case has been set for March 23.
Joseph, facing the same charges, is still being held after his arrest on March 18th. He’s accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl in 2020. According to the Tontitown, Arkansas Police Department, he’s expected to be transferred to Florida, where the alleged abuse occurred, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Joseph, who has four children with Kendra, was taken into custody after a 14-year-old girl told investigators about several incidents involving him that occurred during a family trip to Panama City Beach, Florida.
According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the victim stated that Joseph repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap and later to sit next to him on the couch, where he covered them with a blanket. She also reported that he inappropriately touched her under her clothing and rubbed his hands on her thighs.

According to investigators, the girl said the behavior stopped after Joseph eventually apologized. Authorities also stated that Joseph admitted what he did to both the girl’s father and the police in Tontitown after the father spoke with him on March 17.
TopMob News has reached out to the Duggar family for comment but has not heard back.

This couple, who fell in love in high school, are now parents to nineteen children and grandparents to more than thirty-six grandchildren.
Michelle remembers accepting a religious faith at age 15. Shortly after, Jim Bob was visiting homes in the neighborhood as part of his church’s outreach program. A friend mentioned that a newly religious cheerleader lived at the Ruark family’s house, so Jim Bob went and knocked on their door.
Jim Bob invited Michelle to Sunday school and hoped they could be spiritual leaders together, though Michelle doesn’t recall their first meeting being particularly memorable. A year later, she applied for a job at his parents’ frozen yogurt shop. In a 2017 letter shared on the family blog for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd anniversary, Michelle recalled approaching her at the cash register and introducing himself. She remembered he was shy but kind, and that he eventually worked up the courage to ask her to the junior-senior banquet!
Okay, so it wasn’t just any dinner, it was at Shiloh Christian! But honestly, the real moment happened after, at her parents’ house. They just talked about the Bible for hours and she says that’s when she knew. She’s said their hearts just… connected. It was so fast! They graduated in May of ’84 and were married in July! Can you believe it? She was only seventeen and Jim Bob was nineteen! It’s the most amazing, whirlwind romance ever!

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob previously served as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002, where he was vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2002, but didn’t win the primary. He also sought the Republican nomination for the Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006, but was unsuccessful.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are both licensed real estate agents and have long been involved in conservative political and social causes. This involvement, along with their large family, made them both strong advocates for and frequent subjects of criticism regarding their show, 19 Kids and Counting (originally titled 17 Kids and Counting when it began in 2008).
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

Josh Duggar, the oldest child in the Duggar family, was born on March 3, 1988. Like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, working with the Family Research Council.
Josh Duggar resigned after old police records from 2015 came to light, detailing accusations that he had sexually abused several girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar, while he was a teenager. In a June interview with Fox News, Jessa defended her brother, claiming the accusations were exaggerated and untrue. She stated that, as one of the victims, she knew the claims were false, even if others disagreed.

His wife, Anna Duggar, whom he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on the show 19 Kids and Counting, remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.
In 2016, when he began treatment, his parents described it as an important start to his recovery process.
Anna and her husband have seven children: Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), Meredith (July 16, 2015), Mason Garett (September 12, 2017), Maryella Hope (November 27, 2019), and Madyson Lily (October 23, 2021). Meredith was born on the same day TLC canceled 19 Kids.
In April 2021, Josh was indicted on federal charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. He initially pleaded not guilty to both charges. However, in 2022, he was convicted on both counts, though the judge later dismissed the possession charge. He received a prison sentence of 12.5 years.

Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly, she lost the baby. While they were still sad about this loss and seeking direction, they were overjoyed to discover they were expecting twins.
As a mom, I always say every baby is a blessing, but with my recent pregnancies, it felt extra special! It was like a little encouragement from above, honestly. We’re still figuring things out as we go, because having babies so close together – I breastfeed, and then I’m pregnant again only eight months later! – is definitely unique. It’s just one of those unexpected paths our family has been led down, and we’re embracing it.
John-David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John-David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. They had known each other for a few years prior to meeting at a church event in Oklahoma, where Abbie is from.
They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
In a heartfelt message on their 30th birthday in January 2020, Jana reflected on a long-running joke about having a ‘twin thing’ – that special connection where you feel what your twin feels or know what they’re thinking. She’d always said no, but with the birth of their daughter, Gracie, she realized it was real. She wrote to John, ‘I felt every bit of happiness that you did,’ confirming that connection she’d previously doubted.
Jana went on to say how lovely it was seeing them and Abbie as parents, adding that they seemed like they were born to do it. She also pointed out that the same great qualities that make him a wonderful brother will definitely make him an amazing father.
Abbie and John-David welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in February 2026.

Jana watched eleven of her eighteen siblings get married before she met her husband, Stephen Wissmann. Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Although it was sometimes frustrating waiting for love, Jana believes everything happened according to God’s plan.
Jana explained to People magazine that she’s realized everyone’s life path is unique and that she trusts God’s plan for her. That’s why she’s comfortable getting married later in life. ‘If we all followed the same path, life would be pretty dull,’ she said, ahead of her wedding on August 15, 2024.
On Dec. 30, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, son Archie Gerald Wissmann.

Jill Dillard (born May 17, 1991) met her husband, Derick, in a way similar to how her parents met. He visited the Duggar family home in December 2011 while caroling with his church group, and they lived about 45 minutes apart.
Jim Bob brought Jill and Derick together, and they quickly connected through emails and video calls. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship blossomed. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they were married on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In April 2024, Jill announced she had experienced a miscarriage while expecting her and Derick’s first daughter.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Dillard discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to her family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa and Ben met at church, and he began pursuing her in 2013. This traditional approach to romance was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their relationship before getting engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine that “courting” involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals to see if they’re a good match for marriage. He contrasted this with dating, where couples often spend time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.
Ben formally asked for Jessa’s hand in marriage and proposed in August 2014, a moment that marked the first time they held hands. They married quickly on November 1, 2014. Jessa was expecting their first child when their show, 19 Kids and Counting, was canceled. Shortly after, TLC aired a special featuring Jessa and her sister Jill, discussing sexual abuse and raising awareness about the issue. This led to Jessa and Jill starring in their own spin-off, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later became Counting On and included other members of the Duggar family.
Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born in November 2015; Henry, born in February 2017; Ivy Jane, born in May 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, but welcomed another son, George, in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing ministry work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016 – the same day as Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday, which is a bit tricky when you come from a large family of nineteen! Soon after, people started speculating that they were expecting a baby.
In June 2017, on an episode of Counting On, Jinger shared that she and her family hoped to be settled in Laredo, continuing their ministry and serving God in any way they could.
I was so happy to hear about Felicity’s arrival on July 19, 2018! It was bittersweet learning that earlier that year, in May, Jinger had actually been pregnant before that, but sadly experienced a miscarriage the previous fall. Thankfully, their family grew again when they welcomed sweet Evangeline Jo in November 2020.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Let me tell you about Joseph Duggar! He arrived on January 20th, 1995. Now, this is a sweet story – he met Kendra through church, and he clearly knew what he wanted! He proposed to her at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding back in May of 2017, and it hadn’t even been long since they started courting. Talk about a whirlwind romance!
Joseph admitted he was nervous proposing, but he felt confident she’d say yes, recalling her telling him, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’ Kendra, surprised and overjoyed, shared, ‘I’m so happy and so shocked. I have so much I want to say, but I’m just speechless.’
The couple has welcomed four children: Garrett, born in June 2018; Addison, born in November 2019; Brooklyn, born in February 2021; and Justus, born in 2022.

On March 18, 2026, Joseph was arrested and accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl in 2020. He faces charges related to inappropriate and unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
Two days later, Kendra was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
After publicly dating for only a few months, the couple announced their engagement in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to Lauren in the same location where her parents had gotten engaged, explaining that the property held a lot of family history and was therefore particularly meaningful to her.
Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family’s blog how much they adore her, calling her a ‘precious girl.’ Jessa and Ben also congratulated the couple and gifted them chocolate shaped like hearts and kisses. Michelle playfully added that she assumes they’re saving their first kiss for their wedding day, but offered the chocolate as a fun alternative if they visited.
Josiah previously dated Marjorie Jackson, but they ended their relationship in the summer of 2015. He told People magazine in March 2016 that they had enjoyed their time together and were both trying to discern what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break.
Oh my gosh, they got married on June 30th, 2018, and they told People magazine it was the perfect day! Then, in November 2019, they had their first baby, Bella Milagro – I read it means ‘miracle baby,’ which is so sweet because they’d sadly lost a baby back in October 2018. And it just keeps getting better! Daisy arrived in 2022, and then, just this May, they welcomed their little boy, Ezra! Seriously, they’re the cutest family ever!

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had been friends for 15 years before they began dating. They quickly fell in love, with Austin proposing in February 2017. They were married just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas—the same wedding where Joseph Duggar proposed to Kendra Caldwell!

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth have three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.

Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were born on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu got married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.
Jed and Katey shared the exciting news in July 2024 that they were expecting twin girls. Elsie Kate and Emma Kate arrived on January 8, 2025.

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). Together, they have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
In January 2017, the Daily Mail said Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a rundown house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas—roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s home. Jase then launched his own construction business.
He publicly announced his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married in October of the same year.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
He’s not currently dating anyone publicly, but he’s a very loving and involved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Oh my gosh, James is seriously the coolest! My mom, Michelle, wrote this on his 19th birthday, and it’s SO true. All the little boys in the neighborhood absolutely idolize him – they want to be him! He’s just naturally gifted at everything he puts his mind to. Even when he was tiny, he was always taking stuff apart – toasters, radios, you name it! He’d figure out exactly how everything worked, and then, get this, he’d put it back together, but better! He always added his own little tweaks and improvements. He’s just… amazing!
James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
He started dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.

I’ve been following the Duggar family for years, and it’s amazing to see them grow! Jackson Duggar, Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifteenth child, was born on May 23, 2004, and this photo shows him with his older sister, Jill. It’s so sweet to see how close they are!

As a lifestyle expert, I always say birthdays are about celebrating who someone is, and Jackson’s 16th was no different! His mom, Michelle, highlighted his fantastic sense of humor, and you could just feel how excited he was to finally get his driver’s license. It’s such a milestone moment, and she really captured that anticipation!

Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the special called 16 Kids and Moving In.
On her daughter’s fifteenth birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote about how much joy she brings to everyone. She described her daughter as friendly and sociable, always eager to meet new people. Michelle also shared how much her younger sisters look up to her, and expressed her gratitude for being her mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
As a mom, seeing your child blossom is the best! When my daughter, Jennifer, turned thirteen, I wrote about how dependable and loyal she is – but also how much fun she is to be around! She’s instantly popular with all the younger cousins, and they’re always clinging to her, begging her to keep holding them! It warms my heart to see her gentle nature extends to animals, too. She’s incredibly responsible about caring for our pets daily, and she recently went above and beyond, helping to raise a whole litter of seven adorable bunnies! It’s moments like those that really make you proud.

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

Jordyn-Grace was described by her mom in 2019 as a friendly and sociable girl who easily makes connections with anyone she meets. Her laugh was also noted as being particularly cheerful and a highlight of their day.

Josie Duggar, born on December 10, 2009, was a premature baby who weighed just 1 pound, 6 ounces at birth. She spent six months in the NICU, a special unit for newborns, after arriving three months early. She’s pictured here with her niece, Meredith.

Michelle described her daughter, Josie, as incredibly energetic when writing her a birthday message in 2020. She noted that Josie is constantly on the go, from the moment she wakes up until bedtime.
