Kiefer Sutherland is facing a new legal battle.
On January 12th, the actor from 24 was arrested in Los Angeles after his ride-share driver reported being assaulted, according to both NBC4 and TMZ.
Oh my god, you will NOT believe this! I just read that Kiefer Sutherland was arrested! Apparently, the police got a call around midnight about an assault, and it happened to a rideshare driver in Hollywood. When the cops got there, they said it was Kiefer! They’re saying he attacked the driver right after getting into the car. Can you even imagine?! It’s Kiefer Sutherland! I’m honestly shocked, but also…still a fan, obviously.
Police reported no one was hurt, and they arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of making criminal threats, according to NBC4.
Sutherland was arrested at 4:23 a.m. and released from jail six hours later after posting a $50,000 bond, according to documents obtained by TopMob News on January 13th. Their first court appearance is scheduled for February 2nd.
I’ve been frantically checking for any news, and TopMob News actually tried to get a statement from the LAPD and someone from Kiefer’s team, but nobody’s talking! It’s killing me – what’s going on?! They haven’t responded to anything! I need answers!
Just three months before he was arrested, Sutherland appeared in the holiday film Tinsel Town, alongside Rebel Wilson.
The Emmy-winning actor said he was thrilled to star in a charming, small-town English story, but he also confessed that a Christmas comedy wasn’t quite what he’d envisioned for the future of his career.
Donald Sutherland admitted in a recent interview with the Independent that he hasn’t always had a clear career path. He explained that having children, including his daughter Sarah Sutherland, now 37, with his former wife Camelia Kath, influenced this. He became a father young and quickly had to prioritize financial stability, which shaped the decisions he made about his work. He wishes those early choices hadn’t been so heavily driven by money.
Recalling that he “had to pass on” some opportunities, he added, “I regret that.”
