Kimora Lee Simmons’ Best Red Carpet Fashions Define Fabulous

Don’t call it a comeback, because Kimora Lee Simmons has always been this fierce.

After a 15-year break, Kimora Lee Simmons is returning to television with a new reality show on TopMob, called Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane. She’s ready to show everyone she still has what it takes to dominate the fashion world.

Kimora Lee Simmons began her career in fashion at just 13 years old when the renowned designer Karl Lagerfeld chose her as his inspiration and had her walk in his shows. She was born and raised in St. Louis.

Kimora recalled in a 2019 interview with Teen Vogue that Karl Lagerfeld had a profound impact on her life. He helped shape her into the person she is today, taking her from a small Midwestern town and launching her career. While other modeling agencies told her she wasn’t attractive enough or capable of succeeding, Karl saw her potential in a way that other designers didn’t – he was willing to take a chance on a multi-ethnic model on the Parisian runway.

The 50-year-old reflected that this issue arose over three decades ago, and surprisingly, creating a more inclusive fashion industry is still being discussed today.

Kimora rose to fame in the early 1990s and quickly became a fashion icon. She modeled for top designers like Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent, and Valentino, and appeared on the covers of major magazines such as Vogue and Elle.

And decades later, the mother of five still takes her job as a style icon very seriously.

In the upcoming series Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane (debuting December 2nd), Kimora Lee Simmons explains that she enjoys all aspects of her career. She says, ‘I’m a businesswoman, but I also love being a celebrity and a fashion icon, and I’m glad my children get to share these experiences with me.’

It’s not surprising that Kimora Lee Simmons’ older daughters, Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23, are also models – and fans will be able to see their lives unfold when the family returns to reality television. Kimora is also a mother to Kenzo, 16, Gary, 16, and Wolfe, 10.

To celebrate the premiere of Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane on TopMob this Tuesday, December 2nd at 10 p.m., we’re taking a look back at some of Kimora Lee Simmons’ most memorable red carpet outfits from the past few decades.
