King of the Hill” is returning with an all-new series this coming summer on Hulu, and they’ve given us a sneak peek at John Redcern’s updated design post the time jump. After a break of sixteen years since the original animated series ended, we’re now gearing up for Season 14 of “King of the Hill.” The new season promises significant transformations for all characters, as it takes us nearly a decade beyond the events of the initial show, offering glimpses into their lives during this different phase.

In my viewpoint, the upcoming series of “King of the Hill” is significantly altering each character’s appearance, and over the past few months, they’ve been progressively unveiling these changes through promotional materials. However, there are still a couple of familiar faces that remain partially hidden, such as John Redcorn, whose new design for his older self has finally been disclosed for the first time in a special Hulu promo, hinting at their upcoming shows due this year. What Is John Redcorn’s Role in New King of the Hill?

In the original “King of the Hill” series, John Redcorn had an unusually complex character. For years, he was involved in a long-term, open affair with Dale’s wife, Nancy. While the secret of Joseph being John’s son was known by everyone except Dale and Joseph themselves, John and Nancy engaged in an on-again, off-again romantic relationship throughout the series. Despite his frequent hesitation to reveal the truth, John eventually developed a strong bond with Dale. Interestingly, as the seasons progressed, Dale and John also grew closer, with Dale even assisting John in regaining his land.

In a hint suggesting her loyalty to Dale may have wavered, Nancy’s updated design subtly indicates a possible rekindling of romance with John after her estrangement from him. However, the latest opening theme for the series seems to imply that she might have returned to Dale following years apart. Riding a horse alongside Joseph in this sneak peek, John could either be present in reality or part of a vision similar to past episodes like “Vision Quest.” The official King of the Hill social media account also revealed a closer look at John Redcorn’s design, which includes Nancy by his side. Interestingly, a previous episode called “Vision Quest” showed a similar scenario involving Joseph having visions.

What Does John Redcorn’s Future Look Like?

The likelihood of John Redcorn appearing in future seasons of “King of the Hill” is somewhat unclear at this point, given that voice actor Jonathan Joss has passed away. However, for Season 14, Joss was able to reprise his role before his death and will be part of the show. Whether Hulu decides to produce Season 15 or not remains undecided. If the series does continue, there’s a possibility that Redcorn might be recast or written off the show due to Joss’ passing.

In just a few days, on August 4th, we’ll be able to witness for ourselves as Season 14 of “King of the Hill” premieres on both Hulu and Hulu with Disney+ in the U.S. This season consists of ten episodes that will all be released simultaneously, giving us an immediate look at how each character’s life has evolved since we last saw them in the original series.
