The beloved Hill family from “King of The Hill” will make a comeback on August 4th via Hulu, and it appears that things have undergone significant changes since their departure. Hank and his family had been away in Saudi Arabia for an extended period, which saw Arlen, Texas without them for years. With Peggy and Hank retiring, and Bobby taking up a new role as a chef at a fusion restaurant, the Hills aren’t the only ones who have experienced changes. In the latest teaser for the “King of The Hill” revival, it seems that Bill has undergone some noticeable transformations from his previous appearance.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve always admired Bill Dauterive – he’s been one of the funniest and most heart-wrenching characters on Hank’s crew for thirteen seasons now. From his tumultuous love life to his career struggles, health issues, and daily battles, Bill has been on a constant journey of self-discovery in Arlen. There were moments where he managed to regain control, but it appears that the revival of King of The Hill has only deepened Dauterive’s depression. Trust me, you’ve never seen Bill looking quite as down and out as he does now.
Bill’s New Struggles
It’s evident that Bill has struggled since Hank and his family moved away to Saudi Arabia, as suggested by his appearance in the new King of The Hill revival. Previously, promotional content had hinted at Dauterive also contracting COVID-19. In the season fourteen intro, Bill is shown coughing and seemingly leaving the scene without returning for Hank’s homecoming. Fortunately, Bill didn’t succumb to COVID-19, but it seems like he is facing difficulties upon Arlen’s return.
In the initial thirteen seasons of “King of The Hill,” Bill was brought to life by actor Stephen Root. Fortunately, we’re excited that Root is set to reprise his role in the upcoming fourteenth season. Over time, many audiences have recognized Root from numerous live-action roles; these include series such as “Barry,” “Office Space,” “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,” and “Succession.” In terms of animated productions, Root has also made significant contributions beyond Arlen, Texas, with projects like “Star Trek: Lower Decks,” “Clone High,” “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” “Bob’s Burgers,” and “Rick And Morty” on his impressive resume. In summary, Root’s acting career is quite diverse and extensive.
I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news! Instead of waiting week by week, the fourteenth season of “King of The Hill” will be dropping its premiere and every subsequent episode all at once on Hulu, starting August 4th. Although Hulu hasn’t officially announced a fifteenth season yet, past hints from the cast suggest that Arlen still has plenty more stories to tell!
