For the upcoming revival of “King of the Hill” on Hulu, viewers can expect a multitude of conspicuous alterations. However, one transformation might surprise fans of the original series, according to the showrunner. In just a week or so, “King of the Hill” will debut its Season 14 premiere on Hulu, introducing fresh perspectives on beloved characters from the classic series. Additionally, there may be subtle changes in the writing and production style that devoted fans of the original might recognize as they tune in.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share an exciting update about the beloved “King of the Hill” series! In a recent interview with IGN, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson revealed that our favorite characters will now be dropping more expletives than they did in the original Fox broadcast. This decision came after careful discussions within the team regarding how much each character should curse and which ones would actually use such language. However, it’s important to note that these changes won’t transform the characters dramatically. They remain the same lovable, quirky individuals we’ve grown to adore!
King of the Hill Will Curse More in Season 14
Patterson started by saying we discussed that topic in a creative manner. He questioned how far we should go and emphasized the importance of staying true to the original show’s tone and characters. However, they did seize the opportunity to incorporate a few more expletives, but not excessively. Later, Patterson explained that even though they could curse, Hank wouldn’t suddenly start talking like someone else. Instead, they found humor in other characters cursing while Hank doesn’t, which opens up chances for some amusing situations.
While I’m overjoyed about the return of “King of the Hill,” I must admit there were moments when I wondered if they pushed the boundaries too much. Jokingly, Patterson mentioned that Hulu might have made them tone down some explicit language to avoid an adult-rated show. It’s evident that the team responsible for these new episodes has been meticulously considering how to preserve the original series’ essence while giving it a fresh look and feel. They’ve got a delicate balance to maintain, and I can’t wait to see how they manage it!

What’s New for King of the Hill Season 14?
Season 14 of the hit show “King of the Hill” is set to premiere on both Hulu and Disney+’s Hulu platform on August 4th. All ten episodes will be available for streaming simultaneously when it airs. New additions to the cast include Keith David as Brian Robertson, who looked after Hank’s house while Hank and Peggy were in Saudi Arabia, and Anthony “Citric” Campos as Emilio, a coworker of Bobby’s at his new restaurant in Dallas. Additionally, some familiar characters have been recast for this season.
In the upcoming season, Ronnie Chieng steps into Toby Huss’ shoes to voice Kahn Souphanousinphone, while we also welcome Kenneth Choi as Ted Wassanasong, Ki Hong Lee as Chane Wassanasong, and Tai Leclaire as Joseph Gribble. However, Toby Huss assumes the role of Dale Gribble following Johnny Hardwick’s passing. Although Hardwick won’t be a permanent cast member, he’ll appear in some episodes, and there will be a touching on-screen tribute for him alongside Jonathan Joss, who reprises his character as John Redcorn.
