This year marks the 40th anniversary of the beloved Castlevania series, and Konami has big plans to celebrate! We already know that Belmont’s Curse is coming to PlayStation 5 later in the year, but that’s just the beginning of what they have in store.
A recent post on the official Castlevania website hints that the new Metroidvania game is just the first of many upcoming Castlevania projects. While these projects could include things like TV shows – as we’ve already seen with the Netflix series – fans are likely hoping for more Castlevania games as part of this renewed interest.
As a huge Castlevania fan, I was so excited to read that Konami plans to ‘revive’ the series in 2026 – it’s a big anniversary year! It sounds like Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is just the beginning of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary, and they’ve got more planned…
We couldn’t have imagined partnering with anyone other than Evil Empire and Motion Twin – two studios full of incredible talent and enthusiasm – to create a new 2D action game focused on exploration. We wanted to capture the spirit of Castlevania while also introducing exciting new ideas.
To celebrate Castlevania’s 40th anniversary, a new trailer was released yesterday. The game, set in Paris in 1499, follows a descendant of Trevor Belmont as they wield the Vampire Killer whip to battle monsters. The trailer asks the question: can she save Paris from destruction?
