Even though the new Man of Tomorrow movie isn’t out for a while, DC fans can enjoy more of James Gunn’s Superman world very soon! The last part of Krypto Saves the Day! will be available on YouTube and HBO Max next week.
As a huge Superman fan, I’m really excited about these animated shorts! “Coastal Catastrophe” is actually the final one of four Krypto Saves the Day! shorts coming out in 2025. It’s cool that James Gunn is involved as an executive producer. Now, they aren’t officially part of the main DC Universe storyline, but they’re definitely taking inspiration from the Superman movie that’s also coming out in 2025.
What is Krypto Saves the Day! About?
I just watched the Krypto Saves the World! shorts, and they’re a blast! These animated adventures from Warner Bros. and DC Studios put Krypto, Superman’s dog, in all sorts of funny situations. Basically, he’s the hero Metropolis needs, whether it’s rescuing a school bus full of kids, saving a Spring Break cruise ship, or even tackling a city-wide Halloween candy emergency. It’s lighthearted fun, perfect for a quick laugh.
Warner Bros. hasn’t shared details about the plot of “Coastal Catastrophe” yet. But, since past episodes of Krypto Saves the Day! have featured him rescuing school buses and helping with Halloween, it looks like this new adventure will involve a cruise ship that’s in trouble.
Kypto Saves the Day! Will Release Its Final Episode Next Week
So far, three episodes of Krypto Saves the Day! are available. The first, called “School Bus Scuffle,” features Krypto in a fast-paced pursuit that creates trouble for a school bus driver.
The episode “Halloween Havoc” starts with a black cat running in front of Krypto, and he becomes fixated on catching it before Halloween night is over.
This is a festive story about Krypto getting into trouble! When he catches a tempting scent from a package, he causes chaos at Metropolis’s holiday celebrations while trying to reach it.
Krypto Returns to Live-Action in Supergirl
Even though the animated Krypto Saves the Day! shorts aren’t officially part of the DC Universe storyline, Krypto the Superdog will return in a live-action movie and be included in the DC Universe soon. He’ll play a significant role in the upcoming Supergirl film, which stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El.
When a dangerous enemy attacks those she loves, Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) teams up with a surprising ally for a massive journey across the stars. This partnership fuels her quest for both revenge and justice.
Craig Gillepsie directed Supergirl, which features Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham, in addition to Alcock.
The movie Supergirl will be released in theaters on June 26th. Don’t miss Krypto Saves the Day!, and be sure to catch the premiere of Coastal Catastrophe on April 18th.
