While no fighting game will likely match the incredibly frequent updates of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, 2XKO is definitely trying to keep up with a similar approach.
The developers of the League of Legends-based fighting game have announced plans to add six new characters this year. This is especially notable given that the team size was reduced after the game launched on consoles in January.
Caitlyn became available when the game launched on consoles, and Akali was added in an update this week. That update also included adjustments to game balance and a new feature for playing with friends.
Senna will be released later this year, and three more Champion characters are planned. The studio originally promised five new characters by 2026, but they’ve decided to add one more.
The developers are planning many more additions, including a new stage, character skins, and a summer-themed event. The game will also be showcased at several Evo events this year, starting with Evo Japan next month.
It seems Riot isn’t planning to abandon this game anytime soon and will continue to support it in hopes of attracting more players. What other improvements do you think would help it reach a wider audience?
