Kyle Busch’s Wife Samantha Busch Reveals Her Deathbed Promise to Him

Samantha Busch is keeping her promise to her late husband Kyle Busch.

The woman, age 40, recounted her last conversation with her husband of 15 years, the father of their two children, 11-year-old Brexton and 4-year-old Lennix, before he passed away unexpectedly on May 21st.

Samantha shared a heartfelt message on Instagram June 10th, posting photos of herself and her children at a North Carolina racetrack. She explained that while at the hospital, she promised her husband, Kyle, she would do everything possible to support their children in achieving their goals. For their son, Brexton, that dream is to become a racer.

Although he was a NASCAR Hall of Famer like his brother Kurt Busch, the late 41-year-old let his son, Brexton, develop a passion for racing naturally, without pressure.

Brexton’s passion for racing wasn’t something he pursued alone; it was a shared dream. Samantha wrote about the many hours they spent together talking about, working on, and dreaming about race cars, which created a strong connection between them. She explained that racing truly makes Brexton happy, and she’ll always be there to support him and encourage him as he chases his goals.

And that’s not the only thing Kyle shares in common with his eldest child.

Watching Brexton race is a bittersweet experience. Sometimes I see Kyle in him – that same drive, passion, and energy – and for a moment, it feels like Kyle is still here with us. It’s incredibly difficult, but it’s also a comforting reminder that Kyle’s legacy continues through the dreams he sparked and the love he had for his children.

For Brexton’s part, he’s turned to racing for comfort.

Oh my gosh, I was SO thrilled to see Brexton back on the track! He posted on Instagram on June 6th about the CookOut Summer Shootout, and it just made my day. He actually did AMAZING, finishing sixth in one race and then second in another! He’s such a humble guy too – he said he’s just learning and moving forward, and he thanked all of us fans for the support. Seriously, he’s the best!
