Kylie Kelce Shares Her Honest Reaction to Jason Kelce-Scented Candle

Kylie Kelce is playing defense when it comes to Jason Kelce. 

Kylie, who has four children – Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 5 months – with her husband, recently shared her thoughts on the new “Smells Like Jason Kelce” candle, and whether her fans need her approval to buy it.

Kylie jokingly said, “You are absolutely right,” on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, on November 20th. She quickly added, “I’m just kidding. You can definitely smell the candle.”

The 33-year-old couldn’t imagine what a candle inspired by the 38-year-old would smell like, but she did want to share some important advice.

She told me that when I see her husband, I should imagine hearing her voice, just like the seagulls constantly saying “Mine, Mine, Mine” in the movie Finding Nemo.

She admitted she couldn’t imagine what a ‘Jason candle’ would smell like, but insisted it definitely smelled like marriage. She warned anyone who smelled it to do so at their own risk.

As for the candle’s actual aromatic notes, Kylie has some questions. 

The label described the product as a unique blend of Philadelphia’s Mummers Parade, a tough, determined spirit, and a desire for more. The podcaster found this description absurd, questioning why anyone would want something that smelled like a parade.

Kylie, who grew up in Philadelphia, is very familiar with the unique smells of the city’s New Year’s Day parade. But even with that strong memory, she’s confident her partner smells fantastic, despite a candle not quite living up to expectations.

Kylie said, “I think he smells good, but it’s my opinion, and you don’t need to know.” She playfully added, “It’s a secret I’ll keep to myself.”

Jason Kelce prefers to keep it quiet, but his wife, Kylie Kelce, shared the story of how they met: on a dating app. She revealed this in the 2023 Prime Video documentary about him, simply titled Kelce.

“Jason won’t let me lie about this,” Kylie shared. “We met on Tinder.”

Kylie didn’t realize the man whose profile she saw was Jason, the center for the Philadelphia Eagles, because his pictures didn’t include any images of him playing football for the team.

When Kylie and her friends realized he seemed vaguely familiar, they did what many women their age do: they searched for him on Google Images. Once Kylie identified him, she was sure he wasn’t being honest with her.

“It can’t be him,” she remembered thinking, “it’s a catfish.”

Despite her reservations, she decided to take a risk. In 2015, she posted the first picture of them together on Instagram, playfully captioning it, “So glad you swiped right!”

While Jason and Kylie ultimately hit it off, their first date didn’t go according to the game plan. 

Okay, so here’s a funny story! I was chatting with Jason Kelce on his podcast, New Heights – you know, the one he does with his brother Travis – and I let slip that someone actually fell asleep at the bar… forty-five minutes after I arrived! Apparently, they’d had a little too much to drink. It was quite the sight!

Jason admitted he’d had too much to drink, but he insisted he was still aware enough to realize he was looking at the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. He said he fell in love with her immediately.

Kylie confessed it took her some time to truly accept the idea of dating a professional athlete.

She shared that she kept her dating life private. She didn’t want to reveal she was getting serious about someone only to find out he was seeing other people – a common concern when dating athletes, she explained.

However, in hindsight, Kylie admitted. “It’s entertaining that there was any hesitation at all.” 

She explained that it wasn’t just that she dated a professional athlete, but that she was in a relationship with Jason, who happened to be a football player.

She said yes! But only after putting up with some of Jason’s B.S. 

In a September 2023 episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason and his partner talked about how they got engaged. Jason started by saying he doesn’t consider himself a romantic.

The NFL star proposed to Kylie in his car while they were leaving her parents’ house. 

He said he didn’t know how to get back inside without it looking strange. He explained that saying something like, ‘I need to talk to Dad for a minute’ would have seemed really out of place.

Instead, Jason chose to share what happened next: “When we got in the car, I told Ky, ‘I’m really sorry, but I urgently need to use the restroom.'”

Kylie instantly suspected Jason was hiding something when he quickly came back inside. She jokingly confronted him, saying, “Jason, there’s no way you were just in there for that long – it usually takes you about twenty minutes!”

Jason then cut the bulls–t and got down to business. 

Kylie remembered him saying, ‘This isn’t exactly how I pictured proposing,’ and she instantly began to cry. She realized what he meant – he was about to ask her to marry him – because he mentioned romance.

Just two months after his team won the Super Bowl in 2018, Jason experienced another joyful moment: he married Kylie in Philadelphia.

To celebrate their first anniversary, Kylie shared some throwback pictures from their wedding day.

She wrote that a year ago today, she and her husband exchanged vows of love and commitment in front of their loved ones. She expressed immense gratitude for being able to share her life with him.

A year ago, our sweet baby Wy spent her first night nestled on my chest. I’ll always cherish our cuddles! I also wanted to share one of my all-time favorite photos – it’s from the moment I was pushing, with my veins bulging and Jason beaming with the biggest smile. Just minutes later, we became parents.

The Kelces welcomed their second child, daughter Elliotte Rya Kelce, into the world on March 4.

Kylie posted an adorable video of her daughter, Elliotte, to mark six months since her birth, captioning it with, “All smiles, laughter, and sweetness.”

To kick off 2022, Kylie shared a photo of her son, Elliotte, and called him “the best thing to happen in 2021.”

During the 2023 Super Bowl, where Jason and Travis competed against each other, Kylie Jenner brought a special guest to the game.

Jason mentioned on the podcast that Kylie is planning to bring her obstetrician to the game because she’ll be 38 weeks pregnant. He joked that if she goes into labor at the stadium, it would be a truly unforgettable – and likely pre-planned – moment, calling it a ‘Kelce Bowl’ baby situation.

Travis joked, “We’re in The Matrix, there’s no f–king way.”

Although Uncle Trav’s team, the Chiefs, won the Kelce Bowl against the Eagles, Jason had something even more special happen just two weeks later: he and Kylie had their third daughter.

The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram, sharing that she’s named Bennett Llewellyn Kelce. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces, and measured 21 inches long.

Their daughter was named in honor of Jason’s grandmother through Bennett’s middle name, Llewellyn.

Jason explained on the New Heights podcast that the name is his grandmother Mary’s birth name. He wanted to pay tribute to her, noting she lived a full life and is now at peace.

Kylie and her three daughters went to see Jason at the Philadelphia Eagles training camp, and the couple shared photos from the visit on Instagram.

“Here for the Rita’s and obstacle courses with dad after practice,” the caption read.

The Prime Video documentary about Travis and Jason Kelce showed Jason as a dedicated father, and Kylie openly discussed Jason’s plans for retirement.

She explained that, regardless of how his football career finishes, she hopes he’ll retire while he’s still healthy and able to actively play with their children.

Since retiring in March 2024, Jason has been keeping busy and seems a bit down. He’s enjoyed attending events like the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Cannes Lions festival, and several concerts on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. He even met Prince William and his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at a London show.

And it’s clear he’s having a royally good time in his new gig as an ESPN commentator. 

It felt so different seeing things at training camp this year, and honestly, going to the Linc to watch him play on Monday will be different too! My friends and I are absolutely loving supporting him as he starts this exciting new part of his career, and we’ll be cheering him on every step of the way.

However, she added, “Maybe try not to say t-ts this week?” 

And Jason was ready to have another tiny cheerleader. 

Kylie recently shared with New York Magazine‘s The Strategist that her family reuses clothes from their oldest child for their youngest. She mentioned that pajamas from Hanna Anderson are particularly durable – they still have some saved, even with the possibility of having a fourth child someday.

Months later, the duo revealed they were signing another daughter to their roster. 

I think we really showed how the girls feel about having a new sister,” Kylie shared on Instagram. “It’s good that Ellie, Mom, and Dad all agree on things!”

She mentioned on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, that she doesn’t plan to have any more children after the upcoming baby. She joked that she’ll be firmly shutting down any further discussion about expanding their family, saying people should ‘just eyes at the floor’ and avoid looking at her.

Kylie gave birth to her and Jason’s fourth baby girl, Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce, on March 30, 2025.
