Thomasin McKenzie, known for her role in “Last Night in Soho,” will play Audrey Hepburn in a new movie. The film will tell the story of how Hepburn and French fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy became close friends over four decades.
Actress McKenzie, known for her roles in films like Jojo Rabbit, Eileen, and Joy, will appear alongside Ansel Elgort (from Baby Driver and West Side Story) in the upcoming movie Dinner with Audrey. The film will be directed by Abe Sylvia.
Deadline reports the movie takes place during a single, enchanting night in Paris centered around fashion, and it shows how that night sparked a decades-long and highly successful working relationship between the two main collaborators.
Michael Shannon, a former co-star of Sylvia’s on the show George & Tammy, is also likely to join the cast, though his character hasn’t been revealed yet. The screenplay was written by Kara Holden, who has previously written the films Carrie Pilby and Clouds.
McKenzie isn’t the first actor to portray Audrey Hepburn; others, like Jennifer Love Hewitt who played her in the 2000 movie The Audrey Hepburn Story, have taken on the role before.

Rooney Mara was once going to play Audrey Hepburn in a biopic, directed by Luca Guadagnino, known for films like Call Me By Your Name and Challengers. Unfortunately, that movie never happened.
Audrey Hepburn was a true icon of Hollywood’s golden age, starring in many beloved and successful movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday, Sabrina, My Fair Lady, and Charade.
McKenzie is building a thriving career, and she has several exciting projects on the horizon. These include the highly-regarded film The Testament of Anne Lee, the comedy Fackham Hall (written by Jimmy Carr), and the gothic horror film Victorian Psycho.
