Last One Laughing special gets a Halloween twist with major rule change for new episode

Things are about to get much more difficult on Last One Laughing UK…

The popular comedy show where comedians try to make each other laugh without cracking up themselves is coming back for a Halloween special, and this time, there’s something new!

At the Broadcast Summit, Cat Lynch announced that comedians will now be penalized not only for making audiences laugh inappropriately, but also for shouting or screaming during their performances.

The new Prime Video comedy show will include jump scares designed to make the contestants—and maybe viewers—jump, and it might be hard for them to keep from screaming!

We don’t have details yet about who will be involved, or if any familiar participants will return, but stay tuned for updates.

Last month, Prime Video announced that it’s making a third season of ‘Last One Laughing,’ along with a Halloween special. The new season is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

I was so excited to see the latest series finish up earlier this month! Bob Mortimer was back, trying to win again, but he didn’t seem to think his previous victory would help him this time around. He really treated this season like a fresh start.

I was reading an interview with him in TopMob magazine, and he was talking about joining the show. He said as soon as he walked in, he knew it was a totally different vibe than he expected. He actually named Alan Carr, Romesh Ranganathan, and David Mitchell as the first people he spotted, and immediately thought, ‘Oh no, I’m going to be outmatched – this is going to be really hard!’ It was funny to hear him admit he felt a bit intimidated.

He explained that he wasn’t as familiar with some of the newer comedians, but added that’s actually a good thing. He said, surprisingly, you can become quite close to people during the show’s intense six-hour filming sessions.

“At my age, you like seeing young people doing good, and they were really funny. It was a joy.”
