As a huge Pokémon Go fan, I’m always excited to see what Niantic has planned! They just wrapped up the New Year’s event with some adorable costumed Pokémon, and now they’re already teasing the next celebration. It sounds amazing – we’re getting a brand-new Pokémon to catch for the first time, plus a chance to find a new Shiny! The ‘Pinch Perfect’ event is happening from January 6th to January 11th, and honestly, if you’re trying to complete your Pokédex, you definitely won’t want to skip it!
The Pokemon Go Pinch Perfect event is all about Pokemon with claws! It introduces Klawf, a Rock-type crab Pokemon originally from Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Plus, Shiny Dhelmise will be available to catch in Pokemon Go for the first time ever! Many of the Pokemon appearing more often during the event can also be found as Shiny versions, making it a great opportunity to expand your collection. Let’s take a closer look at everything happening during the Pinch Perfect event in Pokemon Go.
How to Get Klawf in Pokemon Go

Now that Klawf, a Pokemon from the ninth generation, is available in Pokemon Go, here’s how you can catch it. Klawf will be catchable starting January 6th at 10 AM local time, coinciding with the beginning of the Pinch Perfect event.
Similar to many new Pokémon releases, you won’t find Klawf appearing naturally in the wild during its launch event. Instead, you can encounter Klawf by completing Field Research tasks and the limited-time Pinch Perfect Research. This special research will be available in stages, and you’ll have a chance to encounter Klawf with each completed stage.
- January 6th – January 8th
- January 8th – January 10th
- January 10th – January 11th
Timed Research tasks in Pokemon Go begin daily at 10:00 AM local time and end at 10:00 AM on the final day. Completing these free tasks gives you opportunities to encounter Klawf. A separate, paid Timed Research is also available for even more chances to find this new Pokemon Go creature.
Although Klawf isn’t currently appearing in the wild during the Pinch Perfect event, it’s expected to be added as a possible wild spawn in the future. For now, the best way to catch Klawf in Pokémon Go is by completing the Pinch Perfect Field Research and Timed Research tasks.
Featured Pokemon Spawns during the Pokemon Go Pinch Perfect Event
Okay, so Klawf isn’t showing up in the wild, which is a bummer, but don’t worry! During this Pinch Perfect event in Pokemon Go, we’re gonna be seeing a lot more of other clawed Pokemon. Here’s who to keep an eye out for…
- Corphish
- Dwebble
- Clauncher
- Tirouga
- Archen
As a Pokémon Go player, I’m super excited because all the extra Pokémon appearing in the wild during this event can be Shiny! That means it’s a great time to hunt for those rare, colorful versions. Plus, the chances of actually finding a Shiny are even better than usual right now, which is awesome!
All Shiny Boosted Pokemon for the Pinch Perfect Event & How to Get Shiny Dhelmise

If you enjoy hunting for Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you’ll have a better chance of finding these Pokémon during the Pinch Perfect event:
- Clauncher
- Corphish
- Dwebble
If you’re hoping to catch a Shiny Pokémon, keep an eye on Pokémon Go between January 6th and January 10th for increased chances!
Even though this is the first time a Shiny Dhelmise will be available, you won’t find it appearing naturally in the wild during the Pokemon Go Pinch Perfect event. The best way to catch a Shiny Dhelmise is by completing Three-Star Raids or Field Research tasks during the event. Keep an eye out for Dhelmise as a possible reward for completing these activities!
This week in Pokémon Go, you’ll have a chance to find Klawf and Shiny Dhelmise! Share your thoughts and discuss it with other players in the ComicBook Forum!
