Despite creating popular and well-received games like the Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos: The New Dawn, Bloober Team always seems to come back to the Layers of Fear series. Their latest release, Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition, is a version for the new Nintendo Switch 2, and it will be available on December 19th for $39.99.
This new version of the game has the same title as the original and includes both Layers of Fear 2 and all previously released downloadable content. What sets it apart is that it ties all these stories together through the eyes of a new character, The Writer.
The game also includes two new DLCs: The Final Note, which explores the story of The Painter’s Wife, and The Final Prologue, which reveals more about the director of the second game. You can find a detailed review of Layers of Fear (2023) on our site. It’s currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
So, Bloober Team’s got a couple of things going on besides Layers of Fear. They’re actually rebuilding the original Silent Hill – which is huge news! – and they’re also working on something completely new that they haven’t revealed yet. I’m really excited to see what they come up with!
