The launch date for 2XKO, the new fighting game based on League of Legends, was revealed ahead of schedule. Riot Games recently announced that 2XKO will be released as a free-to-play game in January 2026. While a specific date wasn’t initially given, it was expected to be soon. Now, Riot has officially announced the launch date, though the news came out earlier than planned.
Okay, so I just saw a trailer pop up today that revealed the release date for 2XKO! It’s officially coming out on January 20th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It was on Riot’s YouTube channel, but they quickly took it down. Luckily, a bunch of us saw it before they did, and it definitely looked like the real deal. So yeah, mark your calendars – January 20th is the day!
Riot Games mistakenly published the trailer ahead of schedule (it’s now been made private), but ‘2XKO’ will be available on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 starting January 20th. It’s already released on PC.

Riot Games first revealed 2XKO in 2019, and it’s been in development ever since. It’s one of several games based on League of Legends that Riot is creating, alongside a larger, unannounced massively multiplayer online game. After years of work, 2XKO became available in early access on PC a few months ago, and the full game launched in January.
I’m so hyped for 2XKO to finally launch! But it’s awesome to hear that this is just the beginning. Riot is planning to support the game for a long time, and they’re already talking about adding even more characters down the line. When the game does come out, we’ll be able to play as a bunch of fighters from League of Legends, including…
- Ahri
- Blitzcrank
- Braum
- Darius
- Ekko
- Illaoi
- Jinx
- Teemo
- Vi
- Warwick
- Yasuo
When 2XKO launches on January 20th, it will be free to download and play. While the game will include things you can buy, these will mostly be cosmetic items and seasonal Battle Passes.
