The highly popular The 1% Club is coming back for another season on ITV, and Lee Mack will soon be back on our screens every Saturday night. We won’t have to wait long!
The show, having just won Best Quiz Show at the National Television Awards, will be back with a new season on Saturday 11th October at 8:55pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
Launched in 2022, The 1% Club has quickly become a popular show worldwide. ITV states it’s the biggest new quiz show in over ten years. Each episode consistently attracts more than six million viewers, and the show has been streamed over 40 million times, reaching a total audience of 43 million.
This fall, viewers can expect even more excitement! The series will include a fresh, week-long event where the competition carries over from day to day.
I’m so excited about The 1% Club Rollover! It’s going to work just like The 1% Club that we all love, but with even bigger potential prizes. Basically, any money that isn’t won on one show will be saved and added to the pot for the next day. Imagine if all the pots rollover – there could be as much as £500,000 to win! It’s going to be incredible!
Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment at ITV, stated: “The 1% Club Rollover as event television is a great match. The show is consistently improving and has become essential viewing in households nationwide on Saturday evenings.”
He explained, “I’m not sure what’s causing that. However, when my children reached the age of 10, I stopped assisting them with their maths homework because they were already doing so well. So, yes, that approach would likely work well with my other child too.”
Mack mentioned it would be “interesting” to have an episode where kids compete against adults. However, he noted there might be some limitations if a child were to lose the competition.
He jokingly said, “But if you have a 28-year-old bricklayer competing against an 11-year-old girl with plaits, and the 11-year-old loses, it would make for terrible television.”
He went on to say, “Look, I’m not saying I agree with it, we did discuss what people might like. I personally wouldn’t want to see it, but I’d find it really funny. However, that’s not what most people are asking for. So, I realize I’m completely contradicting myself.”
