It’s difficult for most people to own a famous painting, like those by Monet, van Gogh, or da Vinci. But LEGO offers a creative solution! Their LEGO Ideas line now features brick-built versions of iconic artworks. You can currently order LEGO recreations of van Gogh’s The Starry Night and Sunflowers, da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and Hokusai’s The Great Wave. The latest addition to this collection is Claude Monet’s Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies (set number 31220).

Although all the artwork is beautiful, this piece truly stands out. It’s a vibrant, colorful creation built with LEGO bricks, inspired by the impressionist style of Monet. This newest LEGO set was made in partnership with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and is their most expensive one yet, costing $249.99. Despite the price, it’s a substantial piece – the finished painting is over 20 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and includes 3,179 LEGO pieces, making it a significant addition to any collection. It even comes with a hanging mechanism, allowing you to display it like a traditional painting. If you’re captivated by Monet’s LEGO interpretation, you can order the set starting March 4th, or March 1st if you’re a LEGO insider. It will be available at LEGO Stores, LEGO.com, and through the LEGO Insiders App.
Other LEGO Art Sets
LEGO has been creating impressive art sets inspired by famous paintings. For example, their 3D version of Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night is a detailed recreation that even includes a miniature van Gogh painting! It’s available for $169.99 and contains 2,316 pieces, making it a bit smaller and more affordable than their Water Lilies set, which you can currently order on LEGO.com. They also offer a set based on van Gogh’s Sunflowers, the iconic yellow painting, for $199.99. This set has 2,615 pieces and is also available at LEGO.com.

For just $99.99, you can get LEGO versions of two famous artworks: Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Hokusai’s The Great Wave. While the building techniques aren’t quite as impressive as the LEGO Water Lilies set, these are still fun and relatively simple builds – the Mona Lisa has 1,503 pieces and The Great Wave has 1,810. You can find the Mona Lisa set here and The Great Wave set here.
