Any good Batman game needs the Batcave, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is aiming to make theirs incredibly detailed. According to TT Games’ Jonathan Smith, the game starts with a very basic Batcave – just a cave with bats and…well, what bats leave behind. Fans of Batman Begins will also appreciate a familiar sense of atmosphere.
Players can build up Batman’s headquarters in Gotham City, adding space for his Batsuits and Batmobiles. Beyond improving his gadgets and abilities, you can decorate the space with trophies from defeated villains and personalize the furniture. You can even customize the Batcomputer itself, changing how data is displayed and selecting different screensavers.
Beyond fighting crime and exploring the city, Batman can also relax with games like pinball and LEGO Batman: The Videogame inside the game itself. He can drive around and cause a bit of playful chaos, “racing, blasting, drifting, and crashing” through the streets. Fortunately, driving won’t take over the game like it did in Batman: Arkham Knight.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 22nd. A release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version hasn’t been announced yet. You can find out more about Batman’s enemies here.
