Lies of P 2 Just Reached an Important Development Milestone

Neowiz, the developer of the popular game Lies of P, has announced significant progress on its sequel, currently referred to by fans as Lies of P 2. Since its release in 2023, Lies of P has become a successful soulslike game, standing out among those not created by FromSoftware. This success led Neowiz to plan both a major expansion, Lies of P: Overture, scheduled for 2025, and a full sequel. While still in early development, Neowiz is now dedicating more resources to the sequel than ever before.

Neowiz announced this week that development of Lies of P 2 is officially underway. The game has moved past the planning stages – where the story, scope, and overall vision were established – and is now in full production. This means Neowiz will begin actively building the game they’ve designed, a process that will likely take a couple of years. This is a major milestone, indicating that Lies of P 2 is becoming a reality.

Neowiz has publicly called their next project a sequel to Lies of P, but it’s unclear exactly what form it will take. The original game’s ending hinted at a much larger world, suggesting the possibility of new playable characters beyond Pinocchio. This means the sequel might not even be called Lies of P 2, as the story could move away from Pinocchio’s perspective. Neowiz has several possibilities, and it remains to be seen which path they choose.
