Lies of P, the popular game released in September 2023, has now sold over 4 million copies globally, according to developer Round8 Studio and publisher NEOWIZ. While the game is doing well, the companies haven’t shared recent sales figures for its Overture expansion.
The team behind Lies of P is thrilled to celebrate this achievement,” said a NEOWIZ representative. “We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing support and excitement the game has received from players worldwide, and we’re happy to see them enjoying our unique and dark twist on the classic Pinocchio story.”
Besides this recent news, NEOWIZ hasn’t said much about Lies of P, probably because the development team is busy creating the sequel. In November, the game’s director, Choi Ji-won, mentioned that work on Lies of P 2 was moving forward, and the studio is committed to delivering a game that fans will enjoy.
He promised players a really enjoyable experience, adding that they should keep an eye out for updates. He assured fans that the team is working diligently and won’t let them down.
I recently read an interview with NEOWIZ’s Sean Kim, and it sounds like they’re really aiming big! He mentioned they want to bring more hit games to us over the next five to ten years, and of course, they’re still working hard on expanding the Lies of P universe, which is awesome to hear.
Kim explained that their aim is to create popular games that fans will enjoy for years to come – even five to ten years from now. They’re currently working on over five new PC and console games internally, and also exploring potential global hits by partnering with studios in the West, like Zakazane and Wolfeye. They intend to keep investing in these strong partnerships around the world as they grow.
We also want to showcase our selection of indie games, including several created by impressive developers right here in Korea. Two recent standouts, Shape of Dreams and SANABI, have been both critically acclaimed and popular with players.
Kim recently mentioned that the team working on Lies of P 2 is completely dedicated to its development. While he couldn’t share specific details in January, he confirmed that Round8 Studio is enthusiastic and fully committed to the project.
Now that the Lies of P DLC is winning awards and director Choi Ji-Won is excited about the studio’s next game, we’re confident fans will be just as enthusiastic about what’s coming next.
You can play Lies of P and its Overture DLC on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. For in-depth impressions, check out our reviews of both the main game and the expansion. Plus, discover how Lies of P influenced the boss battles and overall design of Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo’s Nioh 3.
