Lies of P Sequel Enters Full-Scale Development Stage

It’s been nearly a year since the release of the Lies of P expansion, Overture, and fans have been hoping for news about a sequel. NEOWIZ has now confirmed that the sequel is moving forward – it’s gone past the initial prototype phase and is now in full development. However, their recent financial report didn’t include many other details.

The company mentioned ROUND8, the team behind the Souls-like action RPG, and highlighted their focus on strong storytelling. This is why they hired Seung-ho Jin and Kay Lee as directors, even though both previously worked as writers.

I know both Choi Ji-won and Kim Hong-kyung are super busy with their own games – Choi’s working on Lies of P 2 (or whatever the sequel ends up being called)! But honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if they still helped out with story stuff on this new project, even if it’s just giving advice. They’re both so good at narrative, it’d be amazing to see their touch on it.

Summer Game Fest is just around the corner on June 5th, and since the first game, Overture, was surprisingly revealed at last year’s event, many are hoping NEOWIZ will give us a sneak peek at the sequel. The original game has sold over four million copies, and the developer, Ji-won, has assured fans the sequel will be worth the wait, so exciting news could be on the way.
