Lily Collins Reveals “Stunning” Role Ashley Park Played in Her Wedding

Lily Collins and Ashley Park’s friendship is très sweet. 

Lily Collins and Ashley Park, who play sisters on Emily in Paris, are close friends in real life too. Lily recently shared that Ashley did something special at her wedding to Charlie McDowell in 2021.

Lily, 36, shared with Today that Ashley performed at their wedding and described her voice as “absolutely stunning.”

And as for Ashley, she couldn’t be more honored.

Ashley explained that it was a particularly special moment during the ceremony. In a separate interview, she said she’d never felt more both nervous and honored in her life.

Since the show first aired in 2020, the stars of Love, Rosie and Beef have shared many important moments in each other’s lives.

Ashley, 34, shared how quickly life has changed for her friend: “I watched her get engaged, then married, and now she’s a mom! It’s amazing to be here with her for this, and the fact that we’re in Venice just makes it even more special.”

Lily, who shares 11-month-old daughter Tove with Charlie, says they connected immediately. She described it as a strong, instant bond, like they were soul sisters from the start.

The biggest satisfaction comes from being able to celebrate the success of Emily in Paris, which released its fifth season on Netflix on December 18th.

Lily described working with her close friend as a deeply meaningful experience. ‘It’s become more than just a TV show,’ she said. ‘For six years, we’ve shared so much, both good and bad, and this feels like a celebration of that bond – not just another season, but of our incredible friendship. That’s what makes it so special.’

However, Ashley shared that she and her co-star faced challenges with their relationship during the latest season of the show.

When Emily in Paris star Lily Collins met Charlie McDowell, she felt the amour right away.

The actress, whose parents are Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman, revealed to Ellen DeGeneres in 2022 that she met her filmmaker partner quite by chance. Considering they both work in the entertainment industry – and their parents, Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen, do too – they were surprised it hadn’t happened sooner. They’d actually been in the same places many times before, but never connected. She described it as a classic, instant connection – love at first sight.

The couple, who previously starred together in the films Gilded Rage and Windfall, became engaged in 2020 during a road trip in New Mexico. Charlie proposed with a unique diamond ring.

Forman shared that she and her co-star began dating after filming wrapped on the show. She described working with him as a wonderful experience, noting his supportive, generous, and kind nature. She explained that their chemistry easily translated back onto the set this season, making the work enjoyable. “It was a real pleasure,” she told GMA at the season four premiere in August 2024.

Minnie went on to explain, ‘I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married, but he’s everything I ever dreamed of in a husband – kind, loving, and truly wonderful.’

The actress became a mother to her son, Henry, in 2008, raising him on her own. She didn’t share who his father was until 2012, when she revealed he was a writer on her TV show, The Riches.

She explained to The Observer that because they weren’t a couple and he wasn’t involved in the business, she decided to keep things private and avoid unwanted media attention to protect him.
