Lindsey Vonn is undergoing medical treatment.
After the ski racer fell during the women’s downhill race at the Olympics in Cortina, Italy on February 8th, the hospital treating her injuries released a statement about her condition.
According to a statement from Ca Foncello hospital in Trevizo, Italy, she had surgery in the afternoon to repair a broken bone in her left leg, Reuters reports.
Following news that Lindsey’s condition remained stable after a frightening accident, Team USA provided an update. The Olympian required emergency air transport from the competition course.
On February 8th, the US Ski and Snowboard Team announced that Lindsey Vonn was injured, but her condition is stable and she’s receiving care from doctors in both the United States and Italy.
Following the event, Lindsey’s sister, Karin Kildow, explained that she had dedicated herself completely to training for the 2026 Olympics, which will be her first competition after a five-year break from the sport.
Karin told NBC’s Cara Banks that Lindsey’s crash was the last thing anyone wanted to happen. Her immediate concern was for Lindsey’s well-being, and she described the scene as frightening. Seeing stretchers brought out was a particularly worrying sign.
She added, “She dared greatly, and she put it all out there.”

Lindsey recently faced more than one injury. Just weeks before competing in the Olympics, she crashed during a World Cup event in Switzerland on January 30th, resulting in a torn ACL in her left knee, a bone bruise, and tears in her meniscus.
Lindsey announced on Instagram on February 3rd that she’s been cleared to compete in the Olympic Downhill on Sunday. After consulting with doctors, going through therapy and physical tests, and even hitting the slopes for a ski run today, she feels confident in her body’s ability to perform, though she still needs to complete one practice run as required.
I knew my Olympic prospects before the crash, and while things have changed, I still have a chance. As long as there’s even a possibility, I won’t give up hope. This isn’t over yet!

Lindsey crashed while attempting a jump early in the competition, but she remained optimistic about still winning a gold medal for the United States.
It’s incredibly tough facing this just a week before the Olympics, but I’m determined to overcome this challenge,” she posted on Instagram on January 30th. “I still believe my Olympic dream can come true.”
As Lindsey recovers from her injury, here are some other celebrities who have publicly shared their health challenges.

As a huge fan of Nikki and her wrestling career, I was shocked to hear about what happened in her match last July! Apparently, during a move from Piper Niven, one of Nikki’s breast implants actually shifted. It’s crazy to think about something like that happening mid-match, and I’m glad she’s been open about it.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitment, she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to use them again and they couldn’t appear in their current condition.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids – non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus – in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had privately struggled with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that girls are often taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This leads many to suffer in silence with something that impacts a large part of their lives.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, asking why she hadn’t been posting lately. The message playfully revealed a surprising reason for her silence: she’d injured herself six months ago by wearing very tight pants, causing a hernia, and had been hesitant to share it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery for a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground early in her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were called to assess her condition.
After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for further tests. League officials reported she is currently stable and responsive.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from a childhood accident – he was hit by a cement truck at age 11 – continue to bother him now.
I was absolutely devastated hearing Devine talk about it on Graham Bensinger’s podcast in 2025. He said it’s been a complete nightmare, and he’s been dealing with these awful spasms all over his body. Honestly, it was terrifying to hear him say the doctors actually told him he was dying – like, within the last year! It just broke my heart, and I’ve been so worried about him ever since.
He mentioned that his pain is intermittent, explaining that he has some physical imperfections and things aren’t quite right with his body.

The reality TV star revealed he had to crawl to the hospital because of severe back pain that worsened during a road trip with a friend.
He described a persistent tingling sensation, saying, ‘Even now, bringing my knees to my chest, it still feels tingly, which is really strange.’ He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was starting to recover.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party. They fired a weapon unsafely, and she was hit five times. One of the shots narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, evaluating her injuries and rushing her to the hospital.
The former Kim Possible star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’ll keep a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, and emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones. Reflecting on how quickly life can change, she urged everyone to hug the people they care about whenever possible.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, surprisingly, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid use. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have connected these injections to her health concerns without the online feedback. Amy recently shared that she’s relieved to have a form of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own, and that she’s healthy. She considers this the best news she could have received.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very fortunate, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then found she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.
Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital and tests revealed she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further investigation at UCLA uncovered a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled through this hole and to her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey later told viewers on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that it had been a frightening experience, but he was going to be okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became concerned and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.
After surgery, twenty days passed before Foxx woke up on May 4th. He was in a wheelchair and unable to walk, so he began rehabilitation and therapy in Chicago.
Foxx expressed his gratitude for the support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

Oh my god, you will NOT believe this! She actually said she died while running the first challenge on the show! Like, literally ‘died’! I was losing it when I heard her say that – it was so dramatic, but also, I’m worried about her! I can’t even imagine what that must have felt like. I’ve replayed that clip like a million times, it’s insane!
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing and she hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a severe headache at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong, suspecting brain damage.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as “unbearable.” During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to speak coherently.
After a week, her speech returned, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports that she has now made a full recovery and is “at a hundred per cent.”

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, credits her family with helping her through a health crisis. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, sending them a picture and a message. She told TopMob News that everyone quickly came to her aid.
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other medical issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.
Now, Cori is recovering well. She says she’s feeling great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but overall is doing fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with her health throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and severe stomach pain. She saw many doctors who offered different diagnoses, leaving her feeling confused.
Drawing on her background in herbalism and holistic medicine, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find comfort and a sense of well-being.
The search for a solution took ten years, and the physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and issues with body image and self-identity.
Ultimately, Shailene was able to resolve her health problems and is now feeling very well. She’s grateful to be in a healthy place, both physically and mentally.
