Actress Vicky McClure will host a new documentary series focusing on true crime, and her husband will appear alongside her.
The new documentary series, Britain’s Murder Map, premiering next month on Sky History and History Play, stars Line of Duty’s [actor’s name] and her husband, historian Jonny Owen. Together, they’ll revisit some of the most shocking crimes in British history.
This duo will journey throughout the UK, examining cold cases, wrongful convictions, and landmark legal cases that have shaped the justice system.
The documentary will feature interviews with experts, historians, law enforcement, and the families of victims. It aims to explore the long-term effects of these murders on the community and understand why these cases continue to be remembered.
The event will feature a diverse group of experts, including novelist Irvine Welsh, known for Trainspotting, and historians like Dr. Fern Riddell, Huw Williams, and Phil Carradice. Criminologist Professor David Wilson will also be present, among others.

The series begins with the pair traveling to Edinburgh in 1828 to investigate the infamous Burke and Hare murders.
In the second episode, the duo will revisit the 1950 execution of Timothy Evans, a Welshman, at 10 Rillington Place. This case was particularly important in the campaign to end the death penalty in the UK.
The series will also investigate allegations of a cover-up surrounding the serial killer known as ‘Bible John,’ who terrorized Glasgow in the 1960s, and the 1959 murder of Kelso Cochrane in Notting Hill.
For the fifth and final installment, my favorite historical detective duo is returning to North London, this time setting the scene in 1910. They’re diving into a really fascinating, and tragic, case – the murder of Cora Crippen by her husband, Dr. Crippen – and exploring what life was like for women back then. It promises to shed new light on how women were treated during the Edwardian era, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they uncover.
Britain’s Murder Map will premiere on Tuesday 7 April at 9pm on Sky History and History Play.
