Lioness season 3 confirms release date with tense first-look images of Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman

Okay, so I’ve been waiting ages for more ‘Lioness’! It’s been almost two years since season two, and finally, we have a confirmed release date for season three. I’m so excited to see what Taylor Sheridan has cooked up this time!

I’m so excited for the return of Lioness! Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Kelly are all back, and I just learned the new season will be streaming on Paramount+ starting August 2nd. It feels like a short wait now – only two months until we can watch it!

Season 3’s storyline promises a mix of secret alliances, international spies, and shocking betrayals hitting close to home.

As a film buff, I’m really intrigued by the setup! It sounds like Joe, played by Saldaña, is struggling to balance her responsibilities with her personal life, and things are getting seriously weird around her. There’s this sense of something hidden going on – things aren’t adding up, people are disappearing, and it feels like her reality is shifting. It’s a classic setup for a thriller, and I’m already hooked!

With help from Kaitlyn and Westfield, Joe faces hidden enemies, but soon realizes the conflict has spread and is impacting everything she does.

Along with the announcement of the season 3 release date, we got our first look at some of the main actors.

I’m so excited for season 3! Along with Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Kelly, we’re also getting Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, Hannah Love Lanier, and Ian Bohen joining the cast. It’s shaping up to be amazing!

Bohen will appear in season 3, bringing with him experience from his role as Ryan in all five seasons of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone.

According to reports, Bohen will play Grady, a Delta Force operative who strictly follows procedures and is the main handler for a military working dog. He’s highly trained in combat strategies.

Of course, Lioness isn’t Sheridan’s only ongoing series – far from it.

He’s also developing several other shows, such as the Yellowstone spin-offs Marshals and Dutton Ranch, Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner, Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King and its sequel Frisco King, Landman, and The Madison.

Season 3 of Lioness premieres on Sunday, August 2nd. You can currently stream seasons 1 and 2 on Paramount+. Sign up for Paramount+ here.

As a critic, I’ve been following James Hibbs’ work at TopMob for a while now, and he really knows his stuff when it comes to TV. He covers everything – from the latest streaming hits to shows on traditional channels. Before becoming a writer, he spent time in PR, both at an agency and with Fremantle, a major international production company. That background definitely informs his perspective. He’s got a solid academic foundation too, with a BA in English and Theatre Studies, plus a journalism diploma – an NCTJ Level 5, if you’re keeping track. It all adds up to someone who really understands the industry.
