The 2D Metroidvania game Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland is coming to PC via Steam on March 31st. A Switch version will follow sometime in 2026. The developer, DIE SOFT, also announced that an updated demo will be available to play during the February 2026 Steam Next Fest.

About
Drawing inspiration from the classic comics of Winsor McCay, Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland takes players into the vibrant, hand-animated dream world of Nemo. This once-peaceful land is now under attack by a shadowy force called Oblivion, which threatens to destroy everything within it. Players must fight back to stop Oblivion from spreading and consuming Slumberland.
I’m so excited to explore Slumberland! It’s this amazing place made up of all sorts of different worlds, each with its own cool stuff to find and quirky characters. While Nemo’s sleeping, I get to wander around and uncover everything! But apparently, things aren’t so peaceful lately. Something’s been creeping in from this place called the Oblivion, and it’s turning Slumberland into a real nightmare. Luckily, I’ll have some new friends to help me figure things out and try to save the dream world!
To rescue Slumberland, you’ll need to tackle tough challenges, battle scarier and scarier enemies, and defeat powerful bosses. As you explore, you’ll discover Nemo’s favorite toys, each giving you a special ability to help you avoid danger, beat enemies, and unlock new routes. Don’t forget to collect Nemo’s Pajamas, Little Buddies, and other items – they’ll make your adventure even more enjoyable!
Created mainly by Dave Mauro, founder of DIE SOFT, Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland builds on the classic gameplay of its predecessors on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is designed to be easy for new players to pick up, but also offers enough challenge to satisfy experienced fans of Metroidvania-style games. As the release date nears, Dave shared his excitement, saying, “Working with a character and world I’ve always loved has been incredible, and I’m eager for players to finally experience what I’ve created.”
