Lola Young is taking time away from the stage after her brief medical emergency.
The British singer announced she was unable to perform at the All Things Go music festival in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 28. This came after she collapsed onstage the day before, forcing her to cancel the performance.
As a performer, delivering for my fans is *always* my top priority, so I wanted to let you know directly that I unfortunately won’t be able to perform at All Things Go in DC today. I posted about it on my Instagram Story earlier today, just a few hours before I was scheduled to go on stage. It breaks my heart to disappoint anyone, and I truly value every single one of you and the commitment you make to come see me perform. I never take that for granted, and I’m so sorry to those who were looking forward to the show. You can find the update on my Instagram Story.
She also expressed hope that people would consider supporting her again in the future. She thanked everyone who had listened and shown her kindness. And to those who enjoy being unkind online, she simply asked for a day of peace.
Lola experienced a frightening moment while performing at the All Things Go Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York on September 27th.
In videos circulating on social media, the 24-year-old performer was singing her song “Conceited” when she looked away from the audience and appeared to say she was going to “faint.” Almost immediately after, Lola lost her balance and fell backwards. Her team quickly came to her aid, rushing to her side within seconds and carrying her off the stage.
The audience quickly learned about Lola’s condition from her friend and fellow artist Remi Wolf, who addressed the crowd, saying, “That was really frightening. My friend Lola is currently backstage, and thankfully, she is alright.”
Later that day, Lola addressed what happened by posting on her Instagram Story, saying, “Hi, to everyone who watched my performance at All Things Go today, I’m feeling alright now. Thank you so much for all the love and support, Lola xxx.”

Just before she fainted, Lola explained that she had been persevering and dedicating herself to her performances, even while dealing with private difficulties. She’d been finding the strength to continue and deliver, despite what she was going through personally. More details are available here.
She shared, “Life can be incredibly difficult, making you feel like giving up. But today, I chose to be here.” She added with a smile, “I also wanted to appear strong…and as the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade.”
As a huge fan, I was so worried to hear about Lola‘s medical emergency. It happened just a day after her manager, Nick Shymansky, announced she wouldn’t be able to perform at the Audacy’s We Can Survive concert on September 26th. He said it was due to a “sensitive matter,” and we’ve all been so concerned ever since.
Sometimes, my team and I need to take steps to protect her,” Nick wrote. “She’s a wonderful person who is always dedicated to her fans, work, and shows. I sincerely apologize for any trouble this has caused.
Lola has spoken before about facing mental health challenges that nearly caused her to lose her career. She previously shared how difficult this time was.
She described a difficult period in her life, sharing that she faced significant challenges, during an interview with CBS Mornings on Sept. 19. “I was really struggling and in a very dark place,” she explained. “I felt lost and didn’t have any motivation or care for my own well-being.”
But, as the artist behind “One Thing” explains, she feels she’s moved past difficult times and is now, “the happiest I’ve ever been, ever.”

The former star of Total Bellas shared that one of her breast implants moved out of place after being hit with an elbow during a wrestling match against WWE performer Piper Niven in July 2025.
“It’s OK,” she reassured her sister Bella Garcia at the time. “We’ll get it fixed eventually. I explained to the doctor, ‘Now that I’m newly divorced, as soon as I retire, I’ll come back to you and we’ll make sure these horses look their best, because they’re going to be competing again soon, and they can’t look like this.’”

I was so saddened to learn that 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o was diagnosed with uterine fibroids back in 2014. These are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus, and it was the same year she rightfully won her Oscar for her incredible performance in that movie. It just shows how even during times of personal health challenges, she continued to shine. I’ve been following her work ever since and am sending her all my support. It’s important to raise awareness about this condition.
She didn’t reveal her condition until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been “suffering in silence” for over ten years.
She explained that when girls enter puberty, they’re often told that periods are supposed to be painful, and that this pain is just an unavoidable part of womanhood. She added, “We often deal with this struggle in isolation, even though it affects so many of us.”

In July 2025, the Daisy Jones & The Six star revealed she needed hospital treatment for a hernia-which is a gap in the abdominal or groin muscles-and explained it was caused by wearing very tight pants.
‘Suki, you haven’t been posting on X (which used to be Twitter) lately,’ she wrote. ‘Did it ever occur to you that I wore pants so restrictive six months ago that they caused a hernia, and I’ve been afraid to mention it?’

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor shared in April 2025 that he was getting better after having surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
“Last week, I began experiencing stomach pain,” Brian shared in an Instagram video. “I went to the emergency room and discovered I had a perforated appendix. It hadn’t quite burst, but it was very close.”
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game on September 14th, the Racing Louisville midfielder suddenly collapsed just minutes into the match against the Seattle Reign at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the United States Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before the referee signaled for medical staff to evaluate her condition. She then collapsed a few moments later.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) later that night, Savannah received immediate medical attention on the field and was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests. The National Women’s Soccer League reported she is currently stable and alert.

Adam Devine revealed that he continues to experience effects from injuries he suffered as a child. He was hit by a cement truck when he was 11 years old, and the consequences are still felt today.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience muscle spasms throughout my body. Recently-within the past year-doctors believed I was facing a life-threatening situation.”
He observed that pain is often temporary, explaining, “My body has all these things that are a little wonky and a little wrong with it.“

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was *so* worried when I heard! Apparently, he ended up in the hospital – can you believe it? – and he said he literally had to crawl on all fours to get there! It was because of this awful back pain he’d been having, and it got even worse during an RV trip with a friend. I’m just so glad he’s okay, honestly! It sounded terrible!
“Currently, my knees are still tingling all the way to my toes, which is really strange,” he shared on a March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast. “To give you some context, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but just two or three weeks ago, maybe a month ago, I was squatting around 295 pounds. But now, I can’t even do a squat standing on that foot. I can’t do a single-leg squat; I just fall over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.”
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

As a longtime fan of Real Housewives of Orange County, I was really worried to hear that Gina Kirschenheiter‘s ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack back in March 2025. Thankfully, it sounds like he pulled through and is doing okay, which is such a relief!

The 30 Rock actor experienced a medical issue while attending a New York Knicks game in March 2025, and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
But the comedian posted an update on social media the next day, explaining that he had food poisoning and was recovering well.

The former Even Stevens star revealed in February 2025 that she was shot in the face during a birthday trip with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on the trip to go clay pigeon shooting.
She explained on Instagram that she was shot in the face when another group carelessly fired a weapon in the wrong direction. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, checked her condition, and took her to the hospital. She was struck five times, and one of the shots narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.
The Kim Possible actor explained, “Sadly, a small piece became stuck behind my eye, and doctors believe it’s too dangerous to try and remove it with surgery right now. They will keep checking on my condition – thankfully, my vision is still normal at the moment.”
The actress expressed her relief at being alive. “I have so much love for my daughters, husband, family, and friends,” she shared. “I truly saw my life pass before me, and I want to tell everyone to cherish and hug your loved ones whenever you get the opportunity. Things can change so quickly.”

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player suffered a cut from another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, his father, Tom Fitzgerald, the general manager of the New Jersey Devils, shared with ESPN, “We’re very lucky. I wouldn’t want that to happen to any parent.”

Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying health scare in March 2022 while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly began showing symptoms similar to a stroke.
“Justin noticed something was wrong and asked if I was okay,” Hailey shared a month later on YouTube. “I couldn’t answer the first time because I wasn’t sure what was happening. When he asked again, I tried to speak, but I couldn’t. The right side of my face started to droop, and I couldn’t form a complete sentence.”
Although the facial drooping and speech difficulties eventually passed, Hailey went to the hospital to get checked out.
“Doctors did scans and discovered I had a small blood clot in my brain,” the model explained. “They identified it as a TIA, or Transient Ischemic Attack.”
Further testing at the University of California, Los Angeles, revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
She described how the blood clot traveled to her heart, went through the hole, and reached her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey shared that she successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now feeling well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time.
In June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which temporarily paralyzed parts of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In an Instagram video, Justin explained, “This virus attacks the nerve in my ear and the nerves in my face, causing paralysis.” He showed his followers, “As you can see, this eye doesn’t blink, I can’t smile on this side, and this nostril won’t move. There’s complete paralysis on this side of my face.”
He also shared that it had become “increasingly difficult to eat,” but thankfully, the paralysis eventually subsided.
“He’s doing really well,” Hailey said on Good Morning America in June 2022, adding, “He’s feeling much better. It was a very frightening and unexpected situation, but he’s going to be completely fine, and I’m so grateful he’s okay.”

Initially, Jamie Foxx kept the details of his April 2023 hospitalization to himself, but he eventually shared what happened.
He explained that one day in Atlanta, he had a severe headache and asked a friend for aspirin. According to his 2024 Netflix special What Had Happened Was…, “Before I could get the Aspirin, I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”
Jamie explained that he first saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home. However, his sister, Deidra Dixon, worried about his condition and drove him to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had a brain bleed which resulted in a stroke.
Twenty days after surgery, the Django Unchainedactor woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair and unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago to begin rehabilitation and therapy.
“All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer,” he said, “because I needed every prayer.”

The television personality shared that she experienced a moment akin to “dying” while jogging a mile during the initial challenge of the NBC competition show.
“I don’t recall much,” she shared on Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser. “I do remember the sound of a helicopter. It felt like I was drifting, and then I saw my grandpa. After that, everything went dark, but then I saw a light. That’s when I knew, I just knew I had died that day.”
“My organs were basically failing,” she went on to explain. “I didn’t know I had rhabdomyolysis. And rhabdomyolysis is what your body does when it’s about to shut down.”

Emilia Clarke is known for filming intense battle scenes in Game of Thrones, but in 2019, she revealed a personal battle in an essay for The New Yorker titled “A Battle for My Life.”
She described experiencing a severe headache while at the gym, saying, “I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill.” The pain – sharp, stabbing, and constricting – worsened, and she realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
She was rushed to the hospital for a brain scan.
“The diagnosis was quick and frightening: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain,” the Emmy nominee explained. “I had an aneurysm, which is a rupture in an artery.”
Emilia immediately underwent surgery to repair the aneurysm, describing the pain as “unbearable.” While recovering, she experienced aphasia, causing her to speak nonsensically.
Fortunately, “the aphasia passed” after a week, and Emilia was discharged from the hospital a month after being admitted.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that the growth had “doubled in size,” requiring a second surgery.
“When I woke up, I was screaming in pain,” she wrote. “The surgery hadn’t worked. I had a massive bleed, and the doctors told me my chances of survival were very low unless they operated again. This time, they needed to access my brain by opening my skull.”
Thankfully, Emilia shared, she is now “at a hundred per cent.”

Snoop Dogg‘s daughter, Cori Broadus, feels thankful for the support of her family.
This came after she experienced a serious stroke in January 2024, prompting her loved ones to quickly come to her aid.
“I let them know I’d had a stroke via text and sent a picture,” she shared with TopMob News reporter Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone immediately came to help me.”
Due to additional health issues, Cori’s hospital stay lasted longer than she anticipated.
“I could have been discharged after the stroke, but my lupus wasn’t stable,” explained the star of Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “My kidneys were also beginning to fail. There was a lot happening at once.”
Currently, Cori is recovering well.
“I’m doing really well,” she said. “I just needed to regain some of my motor skills, but otherwise, I’m fine.”

Shailene Woodley experienced significant health challenges during her early 20s.
“I got to the point where I was losing my hearing. I couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without needing to lie down and sleep for hours, and everything I ate caused me stomach pain,” the actress explained on a September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast. “It was a combination of issues, diagnoses, and different doctors giving me conflicting information.”
Shailene-who has chosen to keep her specific condition private-decided to find her own answers.
“I come from a holistic background and study herbalism,” she added. “So I really wanted to work with both traditional doctors, [and] also independent healers, just trying to find some comfort and peace within myself.”
It was a lengthy process-taking a full 10 years.
“Over that decade, a lot of other issues arose from feeling so much physical discomfort,” the Big Little Lies star noted, “like becoming afraid of food because everything hurt my stomach. That led to a lot of mental struggles with body image, confusion about who I was, and feeling safe in my own body-figuring out what that meant.”
After addressing both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene is now doing much better.
“It was a journey that eventually resolved itself physically, and I’m very healthy,” she shared. “I’m so happy to be able to say that.
