Long-Running Shonen Jump Series to Return With Surprise Extra Chapter After Finale

A popular manga series that ran for a long time is getting one final chapter after finishing its main story. While many series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump have ended recently, not all of them were able to finish their storylines properly. However, the Jump+ app has seen more series conclude as the creators intended. One of these is a well-known romantic comedy, which is also planning a special epilogue chapter.

I noticed a few months ago that Yu Hashimoto’s 2.5 Dimensional Seduction was starting its final story arc, and it was recently confirmed that the series would end with chapter 200. That chapter came out this past weekend, officially wrapping things up with a happily-ever-after for the main couple. However, there was a surprise announcement – it turns out there’s one more chapter coming as a sort of final addendum to the story!

2.5 Dimensional Seduction to Continue After Final Chapter

Fans of the manga 2.5 Dimensional Seduction were surprised to learn the series wasn’t ending with chapter 200. Instead, a final story arc began with the sudden disappearance of Mikari Tachibana. This led Masamune Okumura to confront his feelings for her. Though they’ve been friends since childhood, Okumura had been distant, believing he was only attracted to fictional characters. It became clear that he needed to address past trauma to move forward.

Okumura finally overcame his emotional barriers and realized he loved Mikari as deeply as she loved him. They shared a tearful reunion and confessed their feelings. However, just as the story seemed to be ending and jumping forward in time, it was announced that a special final chapter, titled “Chapter 200+1,” would be released. This epilogue will take place a couple of years later and provide a proper conclusion to Okumura and Mikari’s story.

What to Know for 2.5 Dimensional Seduction’s Extra Chapter

The manga 2.5 Dimensional Seduction is getting an extra story called “Chapter 200+1” that takes place after the main story ends. It’s set two years later and hints at some new mysteries: what happened to the manga club, the secrets of a hidden college club, and what Mikarin is up to at university. This bonus chapter promises to give fans a little more to enjoy after the series’ happy conclusion.

It’s common for promising manga in Shonen Jump to get cut short, preventing authors from fully realizing their vision. That’s why it’s refreshing when a series gets a proper conclusion as the creator intended. It’s even better when the author wants to continue the story afterward, and we’re excited to see what happens next with this one.
