It feels like we’ve had this conversation before, and in a way, we have. There’s been a lot of talk recently about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 potentially releasing sooner than expected, and the rumors keep coming.
The previous rumor didn’t even seem believable to the person who shared it, and this newest one appears to be simply an error within PlayStation’s systems.
Activision has confirmed to Dexerto’s CharlieIntel that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is still scheduled to release on November 14th – just 11 days from today. That’s all the information available right now.
This whole story is a dead end. All the information we and other news sources have received consistently leads back to a single date: November 14th.
What’s causing all the recent excitement? It started with a post on X (formerly Twitter) by PlayStation Game Size, a source that tracks data released by PlayStation. Their post quickly caused a lot of buzz.
It appears this is just a simple mistake. The post initially stated multiplayer would launch on November 17th, but the official release date was November 14th – three days earlier.
The situation was complicated by a Forbes article that initially announced an early access period, but also included inaccurate details about the standard edition – specifically, that it would include a Blackcell season. This error has since been corrected.
That statement isn’t accurate right now. Blackcell is only available if you purchase the Vault Edition or upgrade to it through Xbox Game Pass.
It’s not that people aren’t eager for the game to come out. From the start of the beta, I wished they’d keep it going right up until release. Switching back to the previous Black Ops game after trying the beta was difficult, to the point where I eventually stopped playing it and moved on to Battlefield 6 REDSEC until the next Black Ops title is available.
With many players already switching to Battlefield 6, it’s clear there’s a lot of excitement for its release. However, it’s still a little over a week away, so we’ll just have to be patient and wait for the official launch.
