The popular manga series, The New Prince of Tennis (known internationally as The Prince of Tennis II), is nearing its conclusion with only six chapters remaining. Creator Takeshi Konomi announced the upcoming ending on social media, coinciding with the 17th anniversary of the sequel and the 27th anniversary of the original The Prince of Tennis. I’ve been following The New Prince of Tennis, and it looks like it’s really wrapping up! The creator, Takeshi Konomi, first mentioned ending the series last year, and now he’s confirmed it will be over in just six more chapters. He’s really building excitement for Ryoma’s final match. Unlike the original series which quickly led to a sequel, this feels like a true ending – it probably won’t be getting a continuation.
Following the original Prince of Tennis series, the sequel began publishing in Shonen Jump about a year later and has since been released in Jump SQ magazine.
