Man of Tomorrow Lex Luthor Movie Was Pitched by Dan Harmon

The upcoming Superman film, titled “Tomorrow’s Man“, has now been officially confirmed, and in a recent social media update, a comic book author disclosed that they have proposed a film concept bearing the identical title.

More recently, Eric M. Esquivel, a comic book author who’s previously worked on Superman stories, disclosed that he and Dan Harmon (known for creating shows like Community, Rick and Morty, etc.) proposed a standalone film featuring Lex Luthor to Warner Bros. back in 2018.

As a cinephile, I’d put it like this: “Apparently, the film’s name is ‘Man of Tomorrow,’ too! It seems to delve into Lex Luthor’s unique condition – face blindness, which he claims Harmon shares. The intriguing part? This movie promises to explore why Luthor fails to recognize that the towering Superman is none other than his mild-mannered alter ego, Clark Kent.

As a movie enthusiast, I chuckled at the fact that Peacemaker on HBO incorporated “bird blindness” into its storyline, finding it amusing. Contrary to some speculation, I don’t think James Gunn stole anything from me. In truth, my idea was one I believe many could have come up with in the past.

What do we know about Man of Tomorrow?

In the upcoming sequel, Man of Tomorrow, Gunn takes the helm once more. The story revolves around DC characters originally conceived by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. David Corenswet reprises his role as both Superman and Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan stars as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult portrays Lex Luthor.

Currently, it’s yet to be confirmed which actors from the initial release will reprise their roles for the upcoming sequel. Since the project was announced, there have been whispers on the internet about potential cast members and storylines. Latest speculations hint at Jason Momoa possibly portraying Lobo, as well as Milly Alcock potentially returning as Supergirl.

In addition to Superman, this movie featured Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce portrayed Perry White, Mikaela Hoover took on the role of Cat Grant, Beck Bennett played Steve Lombard, María Gabriela de Faría was The Engineer, Sara Sampaio starred as Eve Teschmacher, Anthony Carrigan brought Metarmorpho to life, Frank Grillo depicted Rick Flag Sr., Edi Gathegi and Isabela Merced acted as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion appeared as Green Lantern, and many more talented actors graced the screen. Since its debut, this film has garnered a 83% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. During its time in theaters, it raked in over $600 million globally at the box office.
