Even though Bungie reported some financial losses, fans of Marathon have something to look forward to: a new content update is coming soon! Season 2, called NIGHTFALL, launches on June 2nd. We’ll get a complete look at what’s new – including the Runner Shell, new weapons, and a nighttime version of Dire Marsh called Night Marsh – on May 25th.
Season 1 is ending soon, so now’s the perfect time to use any gear you’ve saved up in your Vault before it’s reset. You’ll also start seeing guaranteed Map Events like Intercept and Lockdown in every run, and Wardens will reliably drop keys to unlock special rooms – no more relying on luck!
Just having Sponsored Kits won’t guarantee success. Keep an eye out for Wardens appearing at new locations in Perimeter, Dire Marsh, and Outpost. You’ll also see more UESC dropships around Perimeter. Dire Marsh now has a new threat aiming to disrupt Runners, likely a hacker group. Good news: you’ll earn faction experience faster from everything you do, and completing end-of-season goals will help you progress even further.
Plus, the Cryo Archive, the final challenge area, will be open from May 21st to June 2nd, right before Season 2 starts. Each day, players will get a free kit to help them prepare for Cryo Archive: Ranked, which will be available from May 24th at 10 AM PT to May 28th.
