A recent tweet from the official Marathon developer account offered a look at what Bungie has learned from the Server Slam. It seems Bungie is paying attention to how players are experiencing Tau Ceti IV and has a plan for what’s next when players return to the game.
The developers are planning several improvements, including the ability to customize keybindings on all platforms and new queue options, like a dedicated one for duos. They’re also focusing on core gameplay elements – like the speed of player-versus-player combat, how many ‘Runners’ appear, and the user interface – and making adjustments based on player feedback. This includes changes to how often medical supplies and ammunition drop, as well as improvements to movement and the heat system. The team is also working to fix performance problems reported by PC players and is committed to providing solutions.
Bungie is continuing to listen to player feedback, offering a Discord channel for UI ideas and a Help Forum for PC troubleshooting. You can find the full announcement online. We’ll see you in the game, Tau Ceti IV, when Marathon launches on March 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
