A new lore video has been released on the official Marathon YouTube channel, revealing the grand goals behind humanity’s initial voyage to Tau Ceti IV.
Following a long-standing practice of learning from history to build a better future, information gathered from the Runners has given us important clues about why humans originally chose this location for a colony. We’ve also found evidence suggesting the next map, the Cryo Archive, will take players aboard the UESC ship Marathon, letting them explore its first level.
Players have noticed a significant missing feature and have been vocal about it since the game’s release, particularly because it’s meant to be a core part of the late-game experience. Bungie has been responding to feedback and working to improve the game after a slow start, as reflected in player numbers on Steam. Recent updates addressed visual customizations, and the developers have also pledged to rethink how they unlock content for players in this new game.
