When The Super Mario Bros. Movie arrives in theaters on April 1st, audiences will finally meet Yoshi! The film will also honor the beloved character with special Yoshi-themed popcorn buckets. With many new faces joining the adventure, Donald Glover’s portrayal of Yoshi is sure to be a highlight as he makes his first appearance in the series.
As a huge cinema fan, I was so excited to see the first look at the special popcorn buckets for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie! They’ve really highlighted Yoshi, and it’s cool that this bucket fully showcases Donald Glover’s version of the character. We got a little tease of him in the first Mario movie, but it’s awesome to see him taking on a major role in the sequel coming out in 2026.
The Yoshi popcorn bucket is proving incredibly popular before the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It’s already sold out at many theaters and online stores, and it’s become a major collectible – continuing the trend of popular movie-themed popcorn buckets we’ve seen with recent blockbusters.
Yoshi is a major draw for the new movie, especially after a brief appearance in the post-credits scene of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Fans saw his iconic, spotted egg in the sewers, hinting at his arrival with his signature “Yoshi!” call. Since then, Yoshi has been heavily featured in promotional materials and has quickly become a beloved character for the sequel.
How To Get Mario Galaxy Movie’s Yoshi Popcorn Bucket
AMC Theaters
In early March, AMC Theaters introduced a new Yoshi popcorn bucket. The bucket is shaped like the green and white dinosaur, sitting and holding a spotted egg. The egg, which features Yoshi’s shell on top, opens up so moviegoers can fill it with popcorn.

Currently, you can’t order this bucket online, but it’s already being sold in movie theaters. It will be available at AMC Theaters, along with their other collectible popcorn buckets, when the Mario Galaxy movie comes out on April 1st.
Regal Movies
Regal Cinemas is now offering a Yoshi-themed popcorn bucket, shown off in a recent video. The bucket looks just like one already available at AMC Theatres – it’s plastic and holds 105 ounces of popcorn.
You can reserve a Yoshi popcorn bucket on the Regal website, but it’s currently listed as “Coming Soon.” It costs $49.95, and there’s a limit of three buckets per customer.
Cinemark
Cinemark is offering the same Yoshi popcorn bucket as other theaters. It features Yoshi holding an egg, and like the others, it holds 105 ounces of popcorn. The egg actually opens up to let you fill it with popcorn!

This bucket, similar to the one you can find at Regal, costs $49.95 and is available to pre-order now on the Cinemark website. It will start shipping around August 3rd, with most orders expected to arrive between August 5th and 9th.
You can currently find the Yoshi popcorn bucket at most movie theaters showing The Super Mario Bros. Movie before its release on April 1st. However, they’re selling quickly, and some locations have already run out.
Following the success of 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the next installment based on the popular video game. Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Benny Safdie, and Glen Powell reprise their roles as Mario, Luigi, and friends face a new challenge from Bowser and his son, with their world growing bigger and more exciting than ever before.
