Mark Fischbach, known online as Markiplier, has finally released the movie adaptation of his horror video game, Iron Lung, and early reviews suggest it’s a surprisingly good film. Despite having very little publicity – Markiplier funded and released the low-budget movie himself through his production company – it’s already earning high praise from audiences, as reflected in its strong Rotten Tomatoes score. The film is playing in over 2,500 theaters worldwide thanks to a campaign by his fans.
Despite a low-key release, Markiplier’s first feature film, Iron Lung, is getting a lot of positive attention. Currently, it has a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes based on over 250 reviews. Critics are also responding well, with four out of five published reviews being positive. The film is being praised for its immersive atmosphere, impressive technical aspects, and strong performances, with many calling it ambitious, original, and surprising. Some viewers even believe it’s better than other recent horror movies and are encouraging others to give it a chance.
