Martha Stewart is icing out Heated Rivalry from her television watch list.
The popular sports drama featuring Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie has been a huge hit since it launched in November, but one lifestyle expert confessed she isn’t a fan – and that’s perfectly fine with her.
During a recent interview on the Up & Adams Show, the 84-year-old explained to Kay Adams that he had given it a try, but wasn’t interested. He said, “It doesn’t appeal to me; it’s just not my thing.”
Honestly, I’ve always been fascinated by Martha’s taste – she’s not into typical stories at all! She loves a good, intense rivalry, specifically the kind where two powerful mob families are constantly battling each other for control. It’s that power struggle that really grabs her – and me, too, if I’m being honest!
“MobLand’s my stuff,” she shared. “I love MobLand.”
I have to say, after seeing the incredible work of Guy Ritchie, the executive producer and director, I genuinely think this show is the best thing on television this year. It’s just that good!
“Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren?” she said, pointing out the stars of MobLand. “Oh, and Tom Hardy, I love him!”
I’m seeing a really interesting trend with celebrities right now! Martha’s a big fan of MobLand, which is fantastic, but so many others – from Pedro Pascal and Ayo Edebiri (you know, the star of The Bear) to Haley Lu Richardson of White Lotus – are completely hooked on Heated Rivalry. They’re especially loving the beautiful gay love story at its heart, and honestly, who can blame them?
The TV show based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books has been a hit! It’s been renewed for a second season, and a new book is also in the works.
The series centers on Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, played by Hudson and Connor, who are fierce hockey rivals that secretly begin a romantic relationship. Season one viewers will recall the show features intimate scenes between the two.

Hudson, 24, recently shared how he and his costar navigated those passionate love scenes.
I felt an immediate connection with Connor,” Hudson shared with Zuri Hall during an interview on Live from TopMob: Golden Globes 2026. “Our bigger challenge was figuring out how to create that same spark between Shane and Ilya.”

Hudson explained that he and Connor spent a lot of time together off-camera to build chemistry for their roles, as their characters were quite different from their own personalities.
The actor described Connor as very open with his emotions. He compared Ilya to a strong, soulful Slavic rock musician, and Shane to something solid and unyielding, like a brick. He summarized it by saying you have this contrast between a passionate, Slavic energy and something very grounded and stoic.
Good news for TV fans! Even though season two of Heated Rivalry isn’t coming out for a little while, there are lots of exciting new shows coming this year. Read on to discover more series premiering later in 2026.
