Marvel Announces Daredevil’s Arrival Ahead of Avengers: Endgame Style Event in New Ultimate Universe Special

The world of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe has been tainted by a malevolent entity known as the Maker, who manipulated the fates of its superheroes to rule the world like a deranged deity. After being confined beyond time, each story in the Ultimate series has centered around the heroes readying for the Maker’s impending comeback, as both in-universe and real-world events progressed over two short years. In the monumental Ultimate Endgame event, the Maker is poised to inflict destruction once more on reality. However, prior to this catastrophe, Marvel will unveil additional mysteries concerning the Ultimate Universe and one of its missing heroes – Daredevil – in Ultimate Universe: Two Years In.

In the previous year, Marvel published a single issue titled “Ultimate Universe: A Year Passes“, offering insights into the destiny of Ultimate Nick Fury and unveiling the terrors perpetrated by the Maker’s Council. This upcoming special is anticipated to delve deeper into chaos and wickedness, while also presenting a glimmer of hope through both established and new heroes. As Daredevil is one of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes, his enthusiasts should be prepared for an exciting revelation about Ultimate Daredevil.

Gearing Up For the Ultimate Cosmic War

In a future far removed from our own, an elite team of heroes known as the Ultimates had built a perfect world. However, this paradise was snatched away by the Maker’s past actions. Unable to stop the Maker, they opted instead to traverse both time and space, amassing an army of heroes with whom to confront the Maker once he broke free from his imprisonment. The 61st century warriors will rejoin the Ultimates in the upcoming battle, ensuring they bring sufficient firepower for the clash. As for the new character, we’re unsure how or even if they’ll appear. But their journey shall shed light on the condition of the Ultimate Daredevil as well.

The team behind Guardians of the Galaxy, now known as “The Ultimate Guardians,” has been reimagined in an exciting way. These cosmic superheroes have been given a twist that draws inspiration from the time-traveling Legion of Super-Heroes. The creative duo of Deniz Camp (“Ultimates” 2025, “Absolute Martian Manhunter”) and Alex Paknadel (“Red Goblin,” “Cult of the Lamb”) are at the helm, working alongside a diverse group of talented artists from various realms within Marvel Comics.

In Camp’s words to Marvel, each annual end-of-year Ultimates special serves as a chance to uncover more about the universe’s past and determine its future direction. “Ultimate Universe: One Year In” delved into the recent past and impending future, but “Ultimate Universe: Two Years In” is even more daring; it will guide you from the origin of humanity up to 2000 years ahead where things have taken a turn for the worse. It’s daring, heartfelt, brimming with fresh concepts and unanticipated character transformations – just as you’ve come to anticipate from the Ultimate Universe!

Writing in the Ultimate Universe, particularly as it nears its peak, is such an enjoyable experience, it feels almost criminal, Paknadel stated. The opportunity to reimagine and reshape beloved characters is a privilege, and Deniz and I have taken full advantage of it here. Our Daredevil embodies the spirit of the original character – he’s still fearless – but we’ve elevated him to a cosmic-level hero. I’m eager for readers to encounter this new version.
