Good news for Daredevil fans! The hero of Hell’s Kitchen is returning in a comic series designed for both longtime readers and newcomers. It’s been a significant year for Daredevil, with Matt Murdock recently reappearing in the Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again. While the show was a hit, the latest Daredevil comic run just ended. With a second season of Born Again planned, many wondered why there wasn’t a new comic book to coincide with it.
Good news for Daredevil fans! Marvel Comics is launching a new Daredevil series in March. Written by Stephanie Phillips (known for her work on Spider-Gwen and Harley Quinn) and illustrated by Lee Garbett (Batman, Batgirl), the series will see Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock, take on a new challenge: teaching law school. However, balancing his career and superhero life will be difficult, as a new villain named Omen begins targeting him.
Matt Murdock Heads to Law School in 2026’s Daredevil #1

The last few years have been turbulent for Daredevil. After a harrowing journey through hell and back, Matt Murdock found some tranquility as a priest. However, his troubled past resurfaced, impacting those around him and forcing him to once again embrace his vigilante persona. Having confronted and overcome his inner demons, the comic book run by Saladin Ahmed concluded with Daredevil reaffirming his relationship with Elektra and looking ahead to future challenges.
As a big Daredevil fan, I’m excited whenever a new creative team works on the character. I think Marvel is making a smart move with this series, launching it on March 18th, only two weeks after the second season of Daredevil: Born Again arrives. I was surprised they didn’t promote the Daredevil comic more during the show’s first season. It felt poorly timed, as the previous story arc, “Introductory Rites,” wasn’t ideal for attracting new readers. But this new launch in March is perfectly timed to give Daredevil fans a fresh start.
A New Start is Exactly What Daredevil Fans Need

It’s true that Daredevil’s comic book stories and his stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are quite different. However, comics released alongside major projects like TV shows or movies usually aren’t confusing for people new to the character. In fact, Marvel is promoting this series as being enjoyable for both longtime fans and newcomers, which is exactly what they should be doing with a new MCU project on the way. With so much renewed interest in Daredevil, launching a comic with a strong creative team around the time of Born Again‘s second season is a fantastic move for both the character and his audience.
