As a retro gaming and Marvel fan, I’m really excited about this! Limited Run Games is releasing Marvel MaXimum Collection, and it looks amazing. It’s basically a way to play a bunch of classic Marvel arcade and console games – like X-Men: The Arcade Game and Captain America and the Avengers – all in one package. They’re bringing 13 games to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, which is awesome for anyone who remembers these titles or wants to experience them for the first time!
This collection, created with Marvel Games and Konami, features classic arcade games like Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge, Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage, Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety, and Silver Surfer. There are seven more games that haven’t been announced yet, and we can’t wait to find out what they are!
But there’s more! Chris Huelsbeck, the composer behind the iconic soundtracks of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 1, 2, and 3, is creating new music for this collection. You’ll also be able to save your progress at any point in each game, rewind gameplay, access a cheats menu, and even use rollback netcode in X-Men: The Arcade Game. As a bonus, a Museum feature will let you browse the original box art and marketing materials for all the games.
We don’t have a release date for Marvel MaXimum Collection yet, but we’ll share updates as soon as they’re available. If you’re looking for a classic beat ’em up experience in the meantime, you might enjoy Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
