Marvel Officially Debuts Heroes Only Seen in Comics In Viral X-Men ’97 Trailer

The first trailer for X-Men ’97 Season 2 was incredible, and it ended with a perfect line: Wolverine’s iconic “We’re back, baby.” That was just a taste of what’s to come, and believe me, there’s much more excitement waiting!

With the release of the trailer for the 2024 reboot, dedicated fans of the Independence Day franchise – including those who love the original movie and animated series – are already meticulously analyzing every detail, searching for hidden clues and obvious reveals.

The first trailer for Season 2 is packed with exciting weapons, featuring some familiar favorites and a few that are rarely seen outside of the original comic books.

X-Men ’97 Is Unloading a Full Clip for Marvel, Disney

Brad Winderbaum, a head of Marvel Studios, recently told Collider that Season 2 will feature multiple teams with ‘X’ in their name, followed by a hyphen. He explained that there are two other ‘X’ teams besides the one people are already familiar with.

Making good on that promise, .

After the dramatic events of Season 1 – including Magneto’s descent into villainy – the X-Men have been flung across time. As Bishop observes, they’re now spread from the very beginning of Apocalypse’s rise to power all the way to the peak of his control, with Cyclops and the team lost in various timelines.

I was completely blown away by the latest trailer! It looks like the X-Men are facing a truly massive threat with Apocalypse, and what’s even cooler is we’re getting a glimpse into how En Sabah Nur became Apocalypse. I was so surprised to see him manage to recruit heroes like Colossus, Angel, and even Psylocke to his side! And the trailer definitely suggests we’ll be seeing X-Factor and X-Force involved somehow, which is incredibly exciting!

Rarely Seen Heroes, Villains Will Debut in X-Men ’97

When Apocalypse announced his plan to attack at the peak of the X-Men’s weakness – the 1990s – it was clear all X-Men teams, past, present, and even future iterations like Weapon X, were needed to respond.

At the end of Season 1, Forge was looking for Havok and Quicksilver, both characters connected to the X-Factor team. The upcoming season promises even more excitement, with the trailer hinting at the arrival of Emma Frost – a powerful telepath whose allegiances are unclear – along with Polaris and Exodus. We’ll also see a battle between Exodus and Nightcrawler, and the debut of Danger, a highly advanced and intelligent robot from the Marvel comics, marking her first appearance in any Marvel Studios or animated production. (Let me know if I’m mistaken, but I believe this is a first!)

Honestly, seeing Storm regain her powers and Wolverine getting his Adamantium back – that last one especially felt huge, like a panel ripped straight from the comics I never expected to see on screen – it’s got me completely wondering just how far Marvel is willing to go with X-Men ’97. They’re already blowing my mind, and I have no idea what they’ll do next to keep fans worldwide completely stunned.

Based on the Season 2 trailer – and many, like Gambit, are already impressed – it seems the show is poised to receive widespread acclaim.

Yeah, we are so back, baby, as of July 1.
