Marvel’s Most Underrated Disney+ Show Gets Disappointing Season 2 Update

Disney+ has become a home for some fantastic Marvel shows, but many of them don’t get the attention they deserve and are unfairly dismissed. In fact, several of these shows are as good as, or even better than, recent Marvel movies. From critically acclaimed series like WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Loki, to hidden gems like Werewolf-By-Night, Ironheart, and Agatha All Along, there’s a lot to enjoy. Unfortunately, because some fans aren’t willing to give the shows a chance, many of these great series aren’t getting renewed for another season.

Andrew Guest, the showrunner for the upcoming Wonder Man series, recently discussed the possibility of a second season of Hawkeye with The Direct. While Jeremy Renner initially rejected what he considered a low offer to return, he later expressed his continued willingness to work with Marvel. However, Guest doesn’t seem hopeful about Hawkeye getting another season, revealing he had actually begun working on a Season 2 but that plans ultimately fell through due to timing issues.

We definitely brainstormed ideas for a second season of Hawkeye, but it just didn’t align with Marvel’s plans at the right time. I really enjoyed working on the show, and I think Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld have great chemistry – I’d love to see them team up again.

What We Know About Hawkeye Season 2

It’s a bit unclear whether a second season of Hawkeye will happen. Jeremy Renner mentioned they’re hoping to make it, but scheduling conflicts and other projects might delay it for three to four years – possibly making it difficult to produce at all. This year will see the release of Wonder Man, VisionQuest, and the new season of Daredevil: Born Again. Following those, Avengers: Doomsday is planned, and it’s expected to significantly change the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

From 2027 onward, any new Marvel Cinematic Universe movies will either need to fit into the storyline after the events of Doomsday, or be set in the past, like Black Widow. With Avengers: Secret Wars releasing around Christmas 2027, the MCU will essentially start over, shifting its focus to characters like the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and potentially the Champions. While Hawkeye might reappear, the spotlight would likely be on Kate Bishop rather than Clint Barton.
