Masters of Albion launches April 22

Peter Molyneux, the creator of Fable, is releasing his new “god game” called Masters of Albion on PC through Steam on April 22nd at 10 a.m. Pacific Time / 1 p.m. Eastern Time, according to developer 22cans.

Masters of Albion is a unique god game that blends several genres. It combines strategic planning with city building, resource management, and tower defense, all within the immersive world of Albion.

In the humble village of Oakridge, you’ll become a god, guiding the town and its people. You’ll start by building a business and fulfilling requests from the villagers.

Unlike simple city builders, Masters of Albion tells a compelling story and lets you experience the world from the perspective of its inhabitants. You’ll take on challenges, complete quests, fight bandits, uncover secrets and treasures, and explore a vast, open world – all while living as one of its people.

Masters of Albion offers a unique blend of peaceful days and dangerous nights. During the day, you can explore, build and decorate homes, craft items, customize characters, and get to know the townspeople. But as darkness falls, each town is threatened by monsters, and you must defend it.

Each day, you’ll need to finish your assigned tasks and then survive the night. Only then can you continue your adventure through the world of Albion and work towards becoming the Master of the Mask.

Story

The traditional ways of life in Old Albion are a thing of the past, replaced by modern technology. However, magic, long considered lost, is stirring once more, subtly influencing the world and draining the energy from its inhabitants.

You are the Chosen One, blessed with godlike powers. Your mission is to reshape the world and overcome a powerful, ancient evil and its dangerous servant.

You are fated to protect the people of Albion, and only someone with a pure lineage can truly harness the Mask’s power.

Town Management

As a god, you have control over your towns and villages:

  • Design and build every building.
  • Hire and house your workforce.
  • Customize, paint, pattern, and use “Weird Designs” for any building.
  • Combine building types to make unique, multi-faceted structures using our innovative system.
  • No timers or waiting for buildings to complete! You put it together and it works instantly.

Explore

Roam freely across Albion’s open world:

  • See the world from a God’s view, or possess heroes, dogs, workers, and chickens and explore Albion from ground level.
  • Complete quests to unlock treasures.
  • Delve into the underground caves and battle marauding bandits.
  • Upgrade your Heroes with self made weapons and armor.
  • Touch grass, kick chickens, and unearth treasures across all Albion.

God Hand

Take control with the God Hand, and enjoy absolute freedom:

  • Build entire towns.
  • Design clothes, weapons, food, clothes, and armor.
  • Destroy armies of enemies with incredible god powers Interact with impunity.
  • Possess the living and control their bodies.
  • Use your hand to insult or admire, cajole, or be cruel to your entire workforce.
  • Ignite the creatures with fiery balls of flame.
  • Electrocute your enemies with lightning bursting from your fingertips.
  • Throw giant boulders, spiked balls, exploding barrels, or just plain old fashioned people.
  • Dig for buried treasure.

Combat

Okay, so every night, these nasty monsters just appear and start wrecking everything in town. Luckily, I’ve got god-like powers, and it’s my job to hold them off and protect everyone!

  • Construct and arm powerful defensive turrets.
  • Hire Heroes and strategically place them in defensive positions.
  • Erect walls and delay your enemies, or channel them into impending doom.
  • Use your God Hand to reign down terror, with lightning and fire—smote your enemies with the vengeance of an immortal!
  • Grab boulders and explosive barrels and hurl them into the path of the beasts.
  • Possess your heroes to go mano a mano with your attackers.
