As a film and pop culture enthusiast, I’m telling you, trading cards are HUGE right now. Just look at the lines for new Pokémon sets – people are seriously into collecting! Now McDonald’s is jumping on the bandwagon with their own card game, and it’s blown up. It’s already a massive hit, and some of the super rare cards are showing up on eBay for prices way, way beyond anything you’d get at the dollar menu. It’s wild!
McDonald’s UK recently launched a new collectible card game that runs until April 27th. The game includes 24 cards divided into four types – Characters, Fans, Retro, and Legendary – plus a rare “Ronald Card” that everyone is trying to find. You can get packs of four cards with certain meal purchases. However, some of the harder-to-get cards are already selling for high prices, as reported by MSN. One particularly rare card, the “McDonald’s 2026 TCG Promo Card Multimixer (legendary rarity) London Card Show” card, is currently listed for around £177.50 (about $235 USD). Other cards labeled as “Legendary” are starting to sell for around £40 ($53 USD).
McDonald’s Trading Cards Have Real-World Value (Not Just eBay Value)
These collectible cards are becoming popular with online collectors, but they also offer real benefits you can use at McDonald’s. Each meal deal includes a pack of four cards, with each card featuring a character that unlocks a specific reward – like free fries with the Fry Girl card or a free McMuffin with the Birdie card. Interestingly, prices on eBay suggest that cards with unclaimed prizes are worth more. Plus, if you collect all the cards and register them in the McDonald’s app, you can earn even more rewards.
The most valuable card in the game is the Ronald Card, a rare chase card numbered 25. Only 10 Ronald Cards exist, and whoever finds one wins a prize of £10,000 (about $13,238). As of today, four of these cards have been discovered. Currently, none are listed for sale on eBay.
Will The McDonald’s Trading Cards Be Coming to America?
McDonald’s trading cards have become very popular and valuable in the UK, leading many to wonder if the promotion will expand to the United States and other countries. While it’s currently unknown if it will, McDonald’s in the US has run similar promotions before, notably with Pokémon cards, some of which are now being sold online for high prices. They’re currently promoting Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters with a special meal that includes character cards. Some of the rarest cards from this promotion are already appearing on eBay, selling for $100 or more.
